I got the tell us once document from the registrar when I went.

Just realised someone else has found the information already.

Drizzly day so being lazy and just getting washing done. Tomorrow will have to be a start on hoovering and tidying etc. ready for family coming round on Saturday for a late celebration of youngest's birthday.

    Hugs to all especially Lainey.

    Hello everyone. :)

I started my morning by making a chocolate swiss role. I hadn't baked for pleasure for a good while. Even my Christmas attempt was because I had to. I enjoyed just locking myself off the world. The only problem was the door knocked as I was licking the bowl. I think I had mixure in the corners of my mouth.:o:rotfl:

I've been waging war on plastic food storage for quite sometime albeit slowly. I have my eye on glass storage containers but waiting until I find a use for my plastic kit. No more batteries strewn across the drawer and light bulbs have a safer life in a plastic home too. I resisted the urge to get the sharpie out to label them. 2 down many more to make useful. The challenge is on.

I've then sorted through some clothing to sell on ebay. My aim is to get rid of the accumulative cheapy stuff and use the proceeds to get myself some good quality longlife items. First on my radar are some Levi 501s. I spend a lot of time in jeans and I would like rid of the polyester, lycra encrusted numbers that go thread bare easily.

I would also like to raise enough to invest in further items to sell. I am thinking of trawling the local charity shops (not the one I worked at, it's too expensive) to see if I can come across gems that I can sell for a bit of profit. We'll see. :)

So all in all another ok day for my mind and mood thank goodness. :)

Check in everyone. What are you all up to?

Lainey just to say that I'm so sorry for your loss xx

Been MIA since Thursday due to a sneaky trip to the South of France for a rugby match and some sunshine.

Will read & catch up later.

  • Sounds good FUDS, sounds good. Like the idea of finding things to sell in charity shops but be aware that they do check out things for value and you're not very likely to come across anything really cash valuable unless they miss it! Boot fairs often net you good things though I got a little Kelly Lamp for £3 that sell for upwards of £15 on E.Bay I wouldn't part with it though as it's part of my back up lighting plan should we get power cuts.

FLOSS who did you go to watch? am I going to be envious???

Fuds I'm one who never puts plastic near food . I've spent my life using glass or stainless steel . I pay a bit more for the milk in glass bottles but I'm used to it from childhood and the bottles are reused by our dairy over and over and if the weather turns nasty I know it will be on the doorstep however snowy , foggy or cold .
I have the same attitude with clothes . I know you're a fan of woolovers , I'm sitting here in my bright red cable polo which is so warm . I want them to bring out a baby blue but no sign yet . My jeans are Next but the quality has declined in the last few years . I always buy 97% Cotton 3% lycra as I like smart tailored ones and that mix keeps the shape . Cotton , Linen and Wool are the clothes I own . Many of my clothes are up to 20 years old . I have an ankle length wool coat which is over sixteen years old back when Marks clothes were top quality . Fewer but good quality clothes and footwear properly looked after are better than loads of cheaper items .
I'll have to continue in a bit , laptop is not happy and wont change back to normal print .:D

Ok back again . Keyboard is overheating again and causing strange goings on . You sound very content with your pottering . Are you putting the quilt aside until after the move ? They really are a labour of love .

Candlelight I hope you're both feeling a bit brighter x

Nice and cosy here tonight , much milder .
I hope today went as well as it could Lainey and you are managing some sleep x
    Love to all

I've stopped the quilt for the last few days. I'm putting pressure on myself to have it finished for the move but in doing that I took the fun out of it. I'm hoping having a rest and removing the pressure I'll want to pick it up in the next few days. I never should have used 3 inch squares! Nearly at the half way stage though.
  • Better to take a break . I find if I try to finish something in a hurry it becomes a pain rather than a creative process . I've a feeling some of the spot , heart etc fabrics you used are ones I've bought many times - Clarke and Clarke ? They're good quality and wash well . The stripes make easy curtains - no matching :D I buy mine at a really good price online , although I've found big remnants in Waldmans but I don't think you have one up there .
Anyway I'm wittering . So night all .

    I like wittering :D

It's a mixture of charity shop pillow cases and fat quarter packs from eBay. I doubt any are Clarke and Clarke because the quality doesn't feel up to their standard. I'll take a pic later.

You've got me thinking how I know Clarke and Clarke now. Ah the damp house. I ordered a selection of free samples, sewed them together to make a table mat for the centre of my kitchen table. Crikey, back then it was an old garden table that I glossed white. It's easy to forget how different it was back then and how lucky we are!

I like Witterng too. For 20 years we had our annual family holiday there. Truly.

Fudsy, you have worked very, very hard to get so lucky!
