Lainey - your selflessness and determination meant mum was able to be with you for so long. She's in good hands now and as comfortable as can be. Holding you in my thoughts.
Pleased to hear your news Candlelight. That must be a relief for both of you.0 -
Lainey I hope you managed to sleep last night . As Monna said you can all now spend precious time with mum which is as it should be . You are all in my thoughts x
Well dds doctors appointment had to be cancelled early today , she has been ill all night . Speaking to the surgery it sounds as though it could be Noro Virus , seems to be widespread here at the moment . As it's methotrexate day I doubt she'll be in a good way at all . Please cross your fingers I don't come down with it !
love to all

Oh goodness Polly it never rains but it pours. Your poor DD I hope it doesn't last too long and I do hope you don't catch it, but if it is the norovirus you will be lucky to escape.
Hugs at a distance for both of you;)

Good evening everyone, I've been missing in action as the morning after we got back from Christmas with Nell the phone rang and we had to bolt very speedily down to Ruthie who was in labour.....and at 11.08 pm on the 28th December a very handsome young man was born and he is Orley Jakob Dewi, weighed 7lbs 13oz and is totally scrumptious in every way. The cleft is tiny and will be fixed on a few months time, he has masses of dark hair and isn't in the least bit wrinkled but has little 'peach' cheeks and I love him so very very much. They came home late this afternoon and Nell is down with them until lunchtime tomorrow and then the in laws are coming down for a few days so we were OK to come home. It's been a very stressful few months since the ordeal of the summer on finding he had a cleft and all the investigation to see if it was a syndrome and I'm human enough to admit that I've been a little twitchy since then just in case BUT I had no reason to be, he's a bonnie lad and to be there to see Zebras little face when he realised Orley had come home was just a joy, he is mesmerised and just so sweet with the baby, standing beside him just touching a little hand and smiling and smiling, beautiful!
CANDLELIGHT good news on MrCs health, hopefully the new meds will make a difference and give him a better quality of health in the future.
LAINEY mum is definitely in the right place to receive exactly the unstinted care that she needs for this last part of her journey, you and the family have been amazing in the love and totally unselfish care and caring you have given her, you've not shirked a single opportunity to do the right thing and to get the best possible help for a very courageous lady. Now you can let the wonderfully competent professionals do the job with the kindness and discretion I know is part of Hospice life and have the knowledge in your hearts that mum WILL NOT be in pain or afraid because of the dedicated staff who will also be there for you, the family. Bless you all, we're with you every single step of the pathway and will be here for you afterwards whenever you need us, take good care my friend, Lyn xxx.0 -
CONGRATULATIONS LYN.
I know that it's Ruthie who did all the hard work but the whole family has been pregnant for months.
Another lovely little boy to cherish. Enjoy every moment of him and his big brother.

Wonderful news Lyn . I've had a feeling this was happening - not like you to go missing without notice . Congratulations to you all and welcome to a much loved little boy . I think Pandoras box is quite magical !!!
Thanks Candlelight for your good wishes , I am determined I will not get the bug . We have a really good anti viral and bacteria hand foam we've been using for the past year which is effective with Norovirus .
Too late for DD who spent the holiday with her boyfriend who has a gift for bringing home the bugs , but not too late for me ( hopefully )
Lainey hoping the time ahead is as kind to all as possible , we'll all be here if needed and holding you all in our hearts x
Wishing all a peaceful night

Oh Lyn, what wonderful news to wake up to :j Many, many congratulations to you and all of your lovely family on the safe arrival of your beloved Orley, what a lucky boy to be born into such a world of love.
As you may have guessed have slept late for the first thing in ages, waking at just before nine, unheard of for so long.
Spent all of yesterday with DM and oh my wise friends you are so right, she looks so comfortable and much more peaceful in her cosy room. Her brothers came over in the morning and they had a good visit, Capt S went home at lunchtime to see to the dogs, it was then just the two of us for a few hours until DB and family arrived. She is managing a little food again and it's smashing to see her eating & enjoying it :T
We all know it's the hospice bounce but every moment is precious now and to see her pain free and smiling again is worth everything to me. My heart feels at peace x
Hope things are a bit better today Polly and you are managing to keep bug free?
Gosh, just realised it's NYE, how did that happen, must admit the days whizz by at the moment!
Talking of which poor Capt S is wilting away without his breakfast so better get going, love to all x0
