Hoglet, thankyou, the GP was pleased with me. My kidney function has imcreased so that is good.
I think it was all because my diabetes wasn't being controlled properly, but since he gave me these different tablets I feel so much better. No constant tummy ache every day and many visits to the bathroom TMI.
I am off to Wetherspoons to meet the girls tomorrow evening so a nice steak and salad. They always share several bottles of wine, but I don't drink, so it is water and lime for me. It will be good to catch up with all their news.
Hoglet I have just bought Flora 2 scratch pads and sprinkled cat nip on them. One upstairs and one down, we will see if it makes a difference.
Your weather sounds very mixed and slightly uncomfortable, I hope things improve for you. How are the tomatoes doing?
Have a good evening all

Oh that's great news regarding your kidney function - I'm so pleased for you. I hope you ahve a lovely time at Weatherspoons too.
Good luck with the scratch pads - the best thing to stop a cat scratching something is to put tin foil on it - not so helpful for the stairs! One thing I've always heard is that having a scratch post that's covered in rope not carpet-like material helps discourage them from scratching the carpet. If they're being encourgaed to scratch carpet on their post they don't get why they can't scatch it on the floor.
Thanks re the weather. The garden is still very green - usually by this time in the year half the lawn has gone, but it's all still there. The tomatoes are almost over now, we've had some home grown corn too, it was really delicious. The beans are still going - they're loving the rain. Hoping it dries up a bit before I have to drive home - it took me 1 hr 50 minutes to get back yesterday grrrrr.0 -
Glad to hear that all went well with your tests today Candlelight, enjoy your meal out tomorrow. I'm meeting my SIL and two nieces in Ely for a meal tomorrow night, really looking forward to catching up on all the news.
My eldest niece is in the middle of buying her first house as well as planning her August wedding so loads to talk about, my youngest niece is 17 in a couple of weeks and can't wait to start her driving lessons :rotfl:
The girls are extremely precious to me, their Dad, my darling eldest brother Nick passed away six years ago in March from a brain tumour and it breaks my heart to see just how much he has missed out on, can only take comfort from the fact that he would be so proud of the lovely young women they have grown into.
Off to bed now, feels cold tonight so will take hwb. Take care all xx0 -
Lainey your brother will still see how the girls are doing and he will definitely be very proud of them xxx0

Ooooohhhhh!!! Today I met baby Henry for the first time and got a lovely long cuddle. He's such a sweetie and still 'scrunched up' and smells of 'baby', I wish they could replicate that as a home freshener!!! Mum, Dad and Henry all doing just fine! Brodie the cocker spaniel who belongs to Nanna my next door neighbour was very jealous though and kept bringing me his ball and dropping it at my feet to throw bless him. I'll make a bigger fuss of him from now on to make him happy.0

Hi everyone,
We had a busy weekend! We were looking after my cousin's daughter from Friday to Sunday night, then their return flight was delayed so we ended up with their son last night too. When I left this mornign everyone was sound asleep - DH has control of the getting up ready for pick ups this morning. I haven't texted him yet to find out how it went....
And as things always go wrong at the very worst moment - we're having a major saving drive at the moment ahead of my step-kids visit in a few months - after a death rattle lasting 6 months, the washing machine finally gave up the ghost yesterday morning. We've had it 8 years, dragged it through 3 house moves, one to the other side of the world, and had some repairs done so I don't think it's done too badly. The new one arrives tomorrow afternoon - shop had a 20% sale on which helped a bit.
Other than that, not much to report. Weather still lovely and warm, will be abck on the bike tonight after some time off to heal a saddle sore - I was not happy about having to take time off at all, but it was never going to heal otherise. :-/
Right better do some work,
love to you all,
Hoglet xx0 -
We've had such a lovely weekend, Zebra was on fine form, his words are beginning to make small sentences and he's interacting much more without being prompted. We were doing puzzles sat on their lounge floor, he did the 24 piece one and I did the 2, 3 and 4 piece ones, bless him he came over and looked at mine, sat down, clapped his little hands and said 'well done Oma, well done', so cute. Nice to have all of us including Nell together on Saturday and we laughed, played and just enjoyed being with Ezra, was fab! Took Nell home on Saturday night and went out for supper then came home at lunchtime today. I've just made a lovely warming cheese and veg risotto for supper and feel warm for the first time today. Hope you've all had a nice day, I had a Zebra card with an egg box daffodil on it, it's been some years since I had one of those, I love it and also some paintings he did yesterday for the FIDGE Oma! and Nell picked me a bunch of daffs from her garden with the words 'I only picked the ones that had been frosted, I knew you wouldn't want the others' bless, aren't families great? I love mine so much!!!0

Hi everyone,
Lyn, your weekend sounds just perfick and how lovely to spend so much time with your family.
All in all bit of mixed bag this week with work being.....well just the same really, only saving grace is that it keeps the pennies rolling in whilst I look for something else but it is disheartening to spend three days out of my week just clock watching
Also had the vet out to see my Billy horse and, as suspected, the injections haven't really done much to ease his arthritis and he is still lame in anything but walk. She hopes that when the warmer weather comes it may help a bit, but we have to face fact he will never be the horse he was so no more jumping or dressage. He can go for walking hacks, in fact it's good to keep him moving and that's just what we did yesterday. But oh Billy was a naughty boy, our hacking companion was playing up badly and my lad must have thought oh that looks fun, hmm not so funny him playing me up right next to a steep bank and a dyke  My life didn't have time to flash before me!
Anyways, have had a fab day with Mum today, went for a lovely walk this morning with the girls, cooked lunch and then my brother and niece popped over to see her. My nephew has a bad cold but no idea why SIL didn't turn up, nothing was said but think Mum was a bit hurt, at 15 it's not like my nephew needed looking after, oh well.
Now just settling down to watch Dr Thorne, have a good week everybody and live to all xx0 -
Evening all,
Has been very cold here today and rain is promised tomorrow. Where is Spring please? The bulbs are showing in the pots but it is so cold.
Hoglet I am glad you are still enjoying good weather, we feel so much better when it is warm don't we.
Had a lovely day on Sunday, I did roast beef with all the trimmings, except DD1, Himself and me couldn't have potatoes or yorkies because we are on the 8 week blood sugar diet.
I was totally spoilt and had lots of flowers and candles and it was a good day.
My sister and BIL came to see us last week before they go back to Florida. They both look well and won't be back in this country until the beginning of June. They are actually talking about selling their home in Florida but I don't know whether anything will come of it.
I have a nail appointment tomorrow and Himself will pop to see DD1 after he has dropped me off. He isn't at all well at the moment but he won't go to see the Doctor. Everytime I mention it it is a definite NO. He has heart failure and it is actually much worse than it was, I assume it is a progressive condition, but he won't take any notice of what I say. All I can do is look after him and try to make things as easy as possible for him.
DGD1 is about to make a victoria sponge to take into work tomorrow. One of the girls she works with has a birthday coming up and she thought it would be nice to make her a cake.
We are having the new stair carpet fitted on Thursday, it should have been yesterday but there seems to have been a misunderstanding, and laminate flooring in the hall, so it should look good (I hope) .
Have a good week and much love to you all

I'm another one struggling with a poorly male candlelight. Some days I'm worn out sorting out a good diet for him, spending money every week buying supplements on amazon for him, making sure he takes all his pills, - and then you get a growl or a snarl if you try and get them to see the doc. Although to be fair, my RV did go last week and got nowhere. As usual.0
