LYN we will be thinking of you this afternoon, I do hope the vet can offer some re-assurance to you, if not I know you will do the kindest thing.

Our pets burrow into our hearts and stay there forever

Much love and hugs to you all

  • FTM identical twins, how wonderful, what exciting times you have ahead of you.

You did really well with the girls' Christmas presents, was that off ebay? They will be playing so happy during the Christmas holiday.

DGD2 is still poorly, she said "Nan everytime I stand up I go dizzy". I have explained to her that it is going to be a few days before she will start to feel better. She is hardly ever ill, and never off school, so as we know this is a particularly nasty virus.

Had my nails done this morning, and not much planned this afternoon. I didn't sleep well last night, Himself is back to non sleeping mode:) and Flora was climbing on top of one of the wardrobes and then fell off. She is fine but it gave us a nasty shock because we thought she had hurt herself.

Fern and Iris are going to grow into wonderful well adjusted young ladies. How lovely that Fern understood what was happening and that people died in order that we may be free. Sara you should be very proud of yourself.

    Have a good day everyone

    Much love

  • That hound has senility, he's displaying the same symptoms that a human with dementia shows poor old lad but, on the plus side he's physically 100% and it can be treated very effectively so we've got treatment to start tomorrow that is compatible with his cancer treatment and should give us our lad back in part and more importantly give him a better life quality, thank heavens for Vetty persons eh?
  • I am so thrilled for you all Lyn. Poor Docky, age has caught up with him, not unlike some of us :)

I am so pleased the cancer hasn't spread, and that there is treatment to be had with regard to the old age (I don't like the word senility). Bless that poor boy, but at least your mind has been put at rest that he isn't in pain and hopefully one of the treatments will take effect quite quickly.

One big gentle hug for Docky xx

  • Morning everyone,

MLW - I'm so glad the Vet has an effective treatment plan - that sounds like a positive outcome for you. Pets are such a huge part of us aren't they.

Last 2 days in work for us before we have oursleves a little holiday - I cannot wait! It's been a long winter and I'm so looking forward to the time off. I will also be seeing some old friends that I haven't seen for a very long time (10+ years in one case) and it will be so lovely to catch up.

Yes the garden is looking not too bad FTM! Slug patrol has netted a few more of the little blighters, but the veges are starting to grow now and hopefuly shouldn't be so badly affected. Apart form the basil - that poor plant just gets decimated. I must have pulled 4 or 5 slugs off it yesterday and it's only small still.

Just a short note this morning, trying to tie up loose ends before leave!

    Love to you all,

    Hoglet x

  • Hello all,

HOGLET I hope you have a wonderful holiday, you need something when you have had a long winter, don't you. Also time for you both to chill out.

Himself is trying to sort one of the under cabinet lights in the kitchen. It was flickering last night, and when I put it on earlier it was dead. It is so dark here today that we needed some light on in the kitchen.

The ashing machine is just finishing with a load of towels on a very hot wash. They will have to go into the tumble dryer because they won't dry outside.

DGD still no better, daughter took her to the walk in centre and they said it was a virus, but she said she cried all night with the pain in her head. It is very wrrying, although I know how ill we felt with the virus we had.

LYN I hope Docky took his medication at lunchtime like a good boy :) It is such a relief that it isn't the cancer. Unfortunately we can't do much about old age can we?

DGS is going with the school to Paris in the Spring, so we must pop into town tomorrow to draw some money out of his bank account. He will be 18 soon so the account will be handed over to him, but I think he will be sensible with it. DGD had hers at 18 as well, and she has done really well. Just little one to go now, but she is only 15.

It was bin day today and there are a few being blown over with the strong winds this afternoon.

Take care everyone and keep warm

    Much love

  • He did, finally, he's been a but of a sicky boy for a couple of days but the vet couldn't find a problem so he ate his kibble this morning and was then very, very poorly on the lawn. Then I took him for a walk and he just ate grass, lots of grass and was again very, very poorly while we were out. Then, as only animals can he suddenly picked up, got his ping back came home stuffed his hairy little face with turkey and took all his tablets in a ball of pate. He's just going up to the polytunnel with Dadi to water the overwintering things in there having chased a very fierce (but invisible) creature off the lawn to make it safe. He looked so pleased with himself I had to tell him what a clever boy he was, well, you have to don't you?
  • Oh Lyn he is a dear boy isn't he?

My Dad used to say animals eat grass to heal themselves. Obviously he needed to be sick for whatever reason, hopefully that is now out of his system and he can start to be well again.

Is he helping or hindering his Dadi? :):):)
