Morning FTM, too late we both have the sniffy Walrus!!! Didn't get much sleep last night as I was coughing even propped up on 4 pillows and this morning my nose is tap like and I'm doing gargantuan sneezes yukkkkky!!!! Poor Old He Who Knows has a furry throat too so I think we'll both be suffering together. I'm going to get a bottle of my elderberry cordial out of store and see if that makes any difference to how this progresses. DD1 swears by it and says it shortens length of colds significantly. Hope the package arrives safely and that the girls like the contents, DD says folks have bought in to the postcard thing big time, it's caught their imagination which is lovely. Have yourselves a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0

Evening all..
LYN..o no..o i hope the cordial works ..hoping its just a cold and not this virus..
We are looking forward to the parcel arriving..it is just so amazing having all these folks we don't know sending us cards..its the time they take to write down all the interesting places they have been and the best places to visit..truly lovely to sit and read them..sending you hugs and hugs for he who knows..
Its been a quiteish day here..we did some work about Guy Fawkes..and drew some fireworks with glue and glitter..
We had our fireworks tonight..tomorrow is simon's late night..had a bit of a scare though..one fell over and shot all over the place..i grabbed the girls and ran but one hit Fern in the bum..it hasn't burnt her she just has a little red mark..we came in after that and watched from the windows..Fern is absolutely fine..just to reassure you..
Candle light..the girls say Thank -you for the cuddles you sent..Iris loves having a cuddle..
I have had a small clear out of toys again..these one went in a huge bag and out the door before the girls even realized what was happening..i am slowly emptying the toy room. It's almost empty.
I have gone and done it now..i made some mince pies earlier..lovely..we had them with custard for pudding and some left for tomorrow.
I am sat here all cosy with my lovely lantern all lit up with a scented tea-light and i got my wish for a frosty morning..maybe another tomorrow.
right have to go..
love to you all

Poor FERN glad she hasn't taken any hurt from it, scary moment though I'll be bound? I remember one fireworks night when I was in my teens and we stood in our old greenhouse at home to watch the fireworks and it was wet outside so dad put the box inside with us to keep things dry and the first rocket he lit fell over, came straight through one of the bottom panes of glass and straight into the box!!!!! I didn't know we could move that fast and we all hurdled the neighbours fence and watched all the fireworks go up in quick succession, inside the greenhouse. We lost nearly every pane of glass it had!!! Poor dad was mortified but I think we were very very lucky to not even get a scratch.
Hope the girls can watch everyone elses' through the windows this evening and enjoy the displays. Mince pies eh? I'll get my hat, mine's one with lots of custard please!!!0 -
Hello all,
Really cold here today and we had a frost. We saw the lights from the gritter going own the road last night, so had a fair idea of what was to come.
We are having a nice day at home. Himself had to repair part of the fence again, and I have just been doing housework. Did one load of washing, hoovered downstairs and have just prepared a chicken casserole to go into the oven later. It is so nice to have a day at home, don't get me wrong I don't mind seeing DD most days, but nowand again it is nice to be scruffy at home
It was fairly quiet last night with not too many fireworks, and Flora sat on the window sill looking at them. I suppose there might be more on Saturday. Lyn pleased to hear Docky was fairly relaxed about the whole thing, he is a good lad.
FTM if there is anything you would like me to look out for on Saturday please let me know. I know the girls like to make their Christmas cards, so if you are short of anything I would love to get them something. It won't be any trouble. DGD will be looking for arty bits as well so we will be looking at all the stalls.
Hoglet I hope your weather has improved, you wouldn't want to be here at the moment. We have had some lovely weather as yoou know, so it is such a shock to the system when it becomes really cold. I suppose the temperatures now are what we should expect for November, but I think we have been spoilt this year.
A big HELLO to everyone and hope you are all well.
Have a good afternoon.

Morning everyone
Candlelight - yes our weather doe sseem to have improved a bit thank you - it's 7.40 am and we've already had a big rain shower, bright sunshine and now patchy clouds. They say if you don't like the weather in Auckland just wait 20 minutes....
We had a lovely steak from our wheelbarrow of meat winnings last night... with small roast potatoes, homemade bernaise sauce and lettuce leaves picked fresh from the garden. So yummy! My bernaise sauce didn't quite have the right consistency but DH said he loved the flavour so that's what matters!
Woke up to find Alfie had balanced his leopard on a stick (stolen by him I might add) on the edge of the waste paper basket in our bedroom and neatly looped the pompom on the leopard's tail over the rim too. He's such a funny boy. Last night he brought in a green and yellow striped ball - up to his old tricks again!
This morning he was sat on my bedside table throwing the contents onto the floor. Do you think he wanted his breakfast maybe??!
Hope you're all well and those you've been sick are well on the mend
love Hoglet x0 -
Evening all..
MLW..i hope you and he who knows are feeling better..Fern is fine thankfully..i didn't realize i could run that fast myself with iris tucked under my arm..Fern has a tiny red mark on her bum cheek..weird how her coat, jeans, jumper didn't have a mark at all..o my gosh you are so lucky
to still be here with fireworks exploding and glass all over...i bet your poor dad was mortified..i know Simon was. The package has arrived..wow i literally feel like we have been to the Grand Canyon..its amazing..we are going to spread it all out and map it out..he even included where he has been on the map..brilliant thank you..please thank Nell for us..
Candlelight..o thank you for the offer but we have lots of bits and bobs for crafting with..i really hope you have a great day..
Hoglet..lol at your cat throwing things off the cabinet..and your dinner of steak and sauce with mini roasties and salad sounds delish...envious..
Well unfortunately for me i have a second bout of tonsilitis..throat is so sore ..everything feels like barb wire going down..the doctor gave me liquid antibiotics this time..smells like cherry but tastes like poop...am ok in myself though..i am so hungry but all i can eat or tolerate is soup and icecream again..totally fed up..
Right off to bed armed with lockets and water..
love to you all

FTM glad all arrived safely and that it's given the girls a new place to look at. The chap who sent the blurb taught with DD1 at her old school and has a little niece who is disabled and he is very involved with her and loves kids so knows what will be the right level of information to send for a particular age group. I think he had a lot of fun finding things to send and sent what he knew his niece would have liked. He's a sound bloke, Lyn xxx.0

Hi FTM my slow cooker is currently full of rather yummy pheasant in a plum sauce which is smelling delicious. We went out to one of the local villages a couple of days ago as they have the best hardware shop in the district and they have a game butcher. They were offering 10 pigeons for £20, 10 partridges for £20 and 10 pheasants for £25, oh I do so wish I had more freezer space, I'd fill it up as we both love game. As it was I bought 1 pheasant and we'll enjoy that in the casserole tonight and tomorrow I'll make whatever is left into a nice pie, yummy!!!0
