  • SM it's interesting, I also wonder if it will make any difference, Perhaps we should point them in this direction, what do you think?

  • Zebra now has 2 3/4 toothiepegs and is quite uncomfortable with this one but that didn't stop him eating 2 baby tomatoes, half a nectarine,a slice of papaya, a whole fresh fig (inside bits), 2 strawberries, 2 little sticks of cheese, a fish finger and a strawberry petit filous for his lunch!!! They've just left for home as he was soooo tired and needed to have his sleep in the car as he didn't sleep terribly well last night at his mums friends house.

DD1 texted last night at 1.30am just back from the rehearsal at the Festival Hall having left the midlands at 7.30 that morning saying that she thought she might give up the day job as she'd had so much fun being a professional choral singer for the day and, and get this, has a Performers Pass for the Festival Hall until Saturday which is making her feel very happy. She said standing on that stage has been something she dreamed of and never thought she'd ever do but it was an amazing experience. What she'll be feeling on Saturday for the actual performance for the public I can't even begin to guess but I feel like a puffer pigeon in full puff!!!
  • LYN one very proud Mum and Omar:)

How lovely for your daughter to enjoy it so much. Was she nervous at all? I wish her all the best for Saturday and hope she has fun as well.

Now about that Zebra child !!! What an appetite he has, and all good stuff as well. Poor thing though with his toothipegs. Both of my girls always had one red cheek when they were teething and always had ear ache. Teething gives them such pain sometimes doesn't it, hopefully after his 4th one comes he might have a little break before the others start.

    Hugs to Zebra

  • AOT I have just started to eat gluten free bread and I am making a fruit loaf with GF flour, so I will let you know how it goes.

I have such trouble with my digestive system, that I had a light bulb moment and thought about GF and wondered if I was intolerant to it. I love toast but I always feel sick and bloated after I have eaten it. It has only been a few days but I feel better already.

The bread is expensive to buy isn't it, so I split the slices and freeze them so there is no wastage.

If you have any tips i would be very grateful.

    Hugs

Good luck for tomorrow MrsL and DD x

Candlelight, it's only been a couple of weeks but I do find I get more done - when OH is here we stop for a cup of tea when we get in and I struggle to get going again whereas if I just keep going when I get in I am fine and productive.

That said, I had a horrible journey home and only got in at 6.00 and am now on here so maybe not...

Saw OH for half an hour last night between getting home from college and going to bed and won't see him now until Friday evening. It's good to be able to miss him though.

SM, my friend in Dundee commented on trouble in Glasgow but I saw nothing on the news about it down here.
  • Morning everyone!

Scottishminnie - that's very interesting about the composting. we have a newly established heap and I will be buying horse poo on my way home to add in (there's something you don't say everyday). We live near to some racing stables and they sell it for $2 for a huge bag, on an honesty basis next to the road. The coffee shop downstairs, of which I am no longer a frequent patron but still chat to, have agreed to give me some of their used coffee grounds today. Love a good scrounge to save stuff going to landfill and to benefit my garden :)

MLW - what an excellent appetite Zebra has! He has my sympathies ref the teeth - I have 2 wisdom teeth coming through still and they can be complete agony sometimes.

Candlelight - the cats are well thank you! They spend a good portion of the night fighting over my feet, although when I split them up and encourage them to settle down in separate spots on the bed they are happy to do so. Funny things! Yes spring is well sprung and I did a garden plan yesterday to make the most of the space available to us.

Well there is still the potential for my cousin to buy the house next door to us. There are big positives and negatives to both her moving and staying where she is so it is not an easy decision for her to make. It would be so wonderful to have her close by tho.

Well this weekend coming will be our last free weekend for a while - week after will be DH's birthday and we have the family coming over for dinner. They have all run suggestions for gifts for him past me and he will be so surprised I'm having a hard time keeping it to myself. They are all my side of the family and he has none of his over here so it's so lovely that they're making a fuss over him.

Weekend after that we have his sister's nephew visiting us. It's a year since anyone has been over and we always get very excited about it so we are looking forward to showing them around our little corner of the world.

Well I guess that's our news for the time being.

    Hope you're all well

    Hi all..

Lyn wish Nell all the best for her big performance..o poor little baba zebra..Iris was terrible with her teeth..Dentinox gel is brilliant for soothing the pain for them..he has got a good appetite too. I am not surprised Nell feels that way about being on stage..she is a star in the making..

Candlelight..thank you..i love learning with them..we did math today..Fern is not that confident with numbers, she is getting better bless her..so i have invented a game whereby all the numbers need a friend and the only way to get a friend is to work out the answer.

Hoglet..ooh how exciting to have visitors coming..and your OH's birthday too...I think autumn is definitely here as you start Spring..Had to chuckle about buying horse poo on way home..not your average shopping list lol..mind you we are having a ton of manure delivered soon..poor sam has to dig it in.

Kate..i used to get loads done when Oh was working late..and yes i would sit down and have a cuppa with him then not want to get up off sofa again.

SM..i use my coffee grounds in the compost heap..i don't know why but i did have a quick panic that Scotland would leave us..am hoping your having a lovely time.

Well today was pretty quiet..we finished Johnny Appleseed and did a survey of our neighbours..who liked apples and what colour did they like.
Fern's fountain pen exploded literally all over her hands and Handwriting Book..she has blue hands and fingers..Iris offered her to borrow hers..bless her..i will have to pop to town and buy her another..i love to see them writing in pen..pencil is fine and good for practising..i love beautiful writing and i want them to be able to write gracefully.

I did my monthly shop online and stuck to my list..saved myself £40..which is better..i put the saving towards winter/hiking boots for the girls..i will buy them on Friday,on way back from the dreaded Dentist(again)..bet you all think i love going there..i flipping hate the place..got to have another RCT..

I am buying some lovely brownish wool to make us all a matching scarf each for winter..i have seen some wooly fur lined mittens for us all too.

just need to find brownish hats now and we are done.

I have got all my laundry dry again today..am so pleased with that..its all ironed and put away.I love seeing my laundry basket empty.
Right i am going to have a quick cuppa and then bed time.
    love to you all

  • Morning again!

You sound so busy FTM - your winter woollies plans sound wonderful!

Just wanted to share a small success with you all - this morning I made the last payment on a small debt. It feels absolutely wonderful! We have 2 more debts left to slay, and one of those will be gone in 2 months max, but getting it down to 2 feels absolutely incredible. The end is finally in sight.

    Hooray!!!
