  • Evening all. Glad to see we are all looking chilled out (or beyond worrying).

Welcome AOT - nice to have another body around.

Candlelight - it is indeed the Sunshine State - started as a one off winter holiday many years ago and became something I would sacrifice other things to do. Just to get some heat at this time of year is great and I love being on the coast so it's a win all round.

FTM - glad you got your tooth seen to. I had what I thought was yet another infection last week but couldn't get an appointment so the pharmacist suggested Corsodyl mouthwash - I couldn't see how it would help swollen and inflamed gums but it has done the trick. There may well be an underlying issue which I'll need to deal with at some stage but it's cured the swelling and pain in the meantime. Wasn't cheap at about £5 a bottle but it does claim to relieve sore and irritated gums so I'll be keeping it handy in future.

I had planned to pop out tonight to see some friends however the weather is atrocious and they sent a text to say their heating is broken so I've offered them the chance to come to us and get some heat. We have a little calor gas fire which we don't use now we have the generator so they can take that home with them. No heating at Christmas - not fun.

Anyway still a few things to do before I can settle down with a G&T so merry Christmas one and all and I will try to pop back in before I disappear, if not I'll drop in at ungodly hours from across the big pond.

  • HAPPY CHRISTMAS everyone, have a lovely day.

    Much love

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! We woke at 5 to a mighty crash of thunder (DD1 maintains it was Santa crashing into the hedge after too much sherry!) and a hailstorm which made it a white, if considerably noisy christmas, we had another fall of hail at 7ish and it's not melted yet. Have a lovely day everyone, Hugs and Love Lyn, He Who Knows, the Lurcha, The Girls and almost Ezra!!! xxx Olaf the piggy says don't forget meeeeeee!!!!!

Happy Christmas ladies to you and your families (and Doc, Almost Ezra and Olaf of course!)

Lovely relaxed day here, had dinner at 4.00 now just sat chilling out. Got a fruit press from Santa so very happy with that and planning our first batch of cider.

Made the mistake of looking at the cat charity website and fallen in love with two pusscats :o.

Sitting here wishing we could adopt them but our tenancy says we can have two cats and we already have four :( Will make a donation to the charity instead :)

Plan for the new year is to save as hard as we can so we can buy our own place and then I can adopt loads more pusscats :T

Sounds like a lovely day FTM!

    Sorry, minor rant alert.

Someone on my facebook selling page is trying to sell an 8 month old staffie for £50 and giving two cats away as they moved yesterday and can't have pets. I appreciate this happens but surely they didn't just move on Christmas Day with no warning! Why not make arrangements sooner? Grrr, some people shouldn't be allowed pets, poor animals.
  • Good afternoon everyone,

We had a lovely day yesterday, DD1 and DGD1 came to lunch. which was very nice, DD1 went home about 4 and then DD2 and 2 grandchildren came about 4.30 and they all stayed until about 8.30. Nobody seemed very hungry in the evening, probably too many choccies.

We had some lovely pressies and in particular a canvas of our 3 grandchildren, it is absolutely gorgeous. DD2 had this done especially for Christmas.

We are having a quiet day today and will be off out tomorrow, weather permitting. We do have to go to W**kes because the fence is holding on by a wing and a prayer because one of the posts is rotten, but I don't suppose Himself will be able to do it tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a happy Christmas and perhaps you are chilling out now.

    Much love

    Candlelight xx
