  • Good afternoon everyone,

Just wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year, and to thank you all for your friendship these last few months, it has meant a great deal to me.

I am not a lover of new years eve, I find it very melancholic so I expect we will be in bed as usual and then be woken by fireworks outside.

I don't make resolutions any more, just aims. My main aim is to carry on with the healthy eating plan and steadily lose weight. I very rarely weigh myself, I just know by my clothes when I have lost weight.

Anyway, however you are celebrating tonight have fun and I will "see" you in the New Year.

    Much love and thank you

    Candlelight xx

Happy New Year Candlelight and to all the ladies on the thread, those who post and those who lurk :)

Thank you all for being so wonderful, positive and upbeat and listening to my ramblings, it helps to have a place to put it all down :D

Hope you all have a wonderful evening doing whatever you want to and here's hoping 2014 is every bit as good as you all deserve x
  • Happy New Year everyone, I'm sitting in the study with a wobbly lurcher under the desk as some kind soul let fireworks off at 4.30 this afternoon and he is his usual jelly like scared out of his wits poor little self at the moment, I do wish people would THINK before they act, particularly when it comes to the appropriateness or lack thereof over fireworks!!! I wish you all the very best and most successful and fulfilling 2014, may all your plans come to fruition and may all your happinesses be bigger than you hope them to be, bless Lyn xxx.

Oh MrsL, hope Doc settles down, why do people feel the need to set off fireworks at all, let alone before it's even dark!
  • AOT a happy New Year to you, I hope it is better than last year.

Tomorrow you must start saving your pennies for your trip to Turkey with your friend, you have so much to look forward.

    Look after yourself.

    Much love

    Good morning all

HAPPY NEW YEAR...I am hoping you all have a great year..i want to thank you all so much for your love, kindness and wisdom of the last year..

Well done ladies on the weightloss..its lovely to get that pair of jeans on and realise they are smaller than the last ones..brilliant.

MLW..am hoping docky dawg is ok..darn things were going off around here from 6ish onwards..finally building to a 15 minute crescendo at midnight..jack thankfully slept through it..
Unfortunately the girls and sam have colds..so a few rough nights fr them and me..for some strange reason the girls have been having bad dreams..waking up sobbing but can't remember what the dream was about..as i type Iris is all snuggled up in my bed fast asleep..

Hubby was up at just gone 4 for work..but will be home by 11..they all got told to be sober lol...we went to bed at half 9 last night..
I nipped to the chemist yesterday for OH pills..huge queue and hot in there..i went to CS next door and got 2 books and an amazing Cath Kidston oilcloth purse brand new with tags for £2..couldn't believe my luck.
I agree with Candlelight..no resolutions just aims..i think thats much better..i aim to be a better veg grower ..also to make more of my own foods ..for starters that will do.
Right ladies where ever you are, whatever your doing enjoy it..
    all my love

Morning all, I was in the bailout club last night too. Lovely and clear headed this morning.

I don't like New Year's Eve, but would like to wish everyone a happy new year :D

My aim is to do everything five minutes earlier to stop so much of the rushing round And the usual get fitter thing.

We already have one holiday to look forward to, and need to plan one for the summer. Whilst frugal in many ways, we do loves our ollidies.

Tomorrow is DDs first audition for drama school.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

  • Poor Docky, my DD has two dogs, one is scared of fireworks, the other isn't, she found out that the scared one is ok if he can see the fireworks, so she ends up taking him out for a walk when the fireworks start and then he's fine.
On the subject of rehoming animals, nothing would surprise me, my dd is a foster carer and has 3 children staying longterm with her, the amount of people who asked her when she would be sending them back when she got pregnant was astounding. It's as though they were just something to do whilst waiting to get pregnant & now they could be discarded, horrible.
