Hello, may I join your lovely thread?
I have been an intermittent poster but would like to contribute more.
Mrs LW, Ezra is a lovely name. My OH is called Peter and he is well named as he really is my rock.
fTM, glad you will get something back for your frreezer loss. The things you do with your girlies sound so lovely
I have just returned from working abroad, the OH, kids and MIL have been here without me but all seems fairly organised. I e pect I will find things in unusual places for a while yet though :rotfl:
Jetlag has kicked in and I have been up since 4, first day back at work, but fortunately I am only teaching for 2 hours and then I will come home to catch up on Downton!:)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hello VJsMUM we'd love it if you joined us over here too, it's always lovely when friends we know join in and post here and share the little things in life we care about. Thank you, we love Ezra and Peter is a family name on both sides so that was a foregone inclusion and Oskar was a great grandparent so it's keeping family names going which I love. Come and be part of the family here too, you really are most welcome, Love Lyn xxx.0

Wow FTM and 'well done' even more that insurance company, £100 is brilliant recompense for lost goods and surely will help to stock you up again, I'm so delighted for you, result!!! Say thanks to your OH for liking Ezra as a name, it IS a proper boy name and one that will be as suitable when he grows up as it is when he's little. We had rain in the night, quite heavy at times but after a dank and grey start we now have a hazy sky and the sun is trying to come out. He Who Knows has gone off to annoy the local fish population with a friend and I'm having a reltively easy day as I have a bit of a creaky back, so I'll stay active as that helps but not do anything too heavy or try lifting anything either. Caramel and Chocolate covered pretzls sound marvellous, and just a little bit divinely naughty so enjoy each and every one of them!!! Have a lovely day Love Lyn xxx.0

Welcome VJs Mum, I have very recently joined, but lurked for a long time.
This is a lovely thread and everyone is so friendly, and it is lovely to hear what is happening in their lives.
Dark and misty here this morning, but not cold. Have just popped into town with Himself to get a few bits. Have some ironing to do later, and hoovering, but otherwise a quiet afternoon planned.
Tomorrow will be busy, popping to elder daughter first she is recovering from knee surgery. Then to see my sister who lives nearby, home again and then plan evening meal because 2 of my grandchildren are coming for their dinner straight from school.
Hope everyone is having a good week.

Evening all - and welcome to our new friends:hello:
I made it back to this side of the pond earlier in the week however have been snowed under with work, washing and garden.
It's not terribly pleasant weather up here so the garden tidy up has been limited since I got home and I was disappointed not to come back to hundreds of pumpkins:)
I didn't get a fall wreath however I consoled myself with some treats from Williams Sonoma cook-shop which is one of my favourite haunts. I bought a set of Halloween stencils which can be used on cupcakes or I had in mind empire biscuits. There are 4 - an owl, a spider, a bat and a skull. I also bought two tubs of sanding sugar in black and bright orange. It's kind of metallic so I think it will make the stencils really stand out.
I also treated myself to this pressed glass plate which I plan to use for cheesecakes. I could have gone mad for the Halloween and autumn stuff - I was so taken by a plate with a flying witch however hubby pointed out that getting one piece of glassware home would be challenging enough. He was right of course - and there is always next year to add to my collection:o
I'm also back with a Pottery Barn catalogue as that is another one of my favourite shops. I'll pore over it for weeks and will probably then be on a hunt for a few things back here.
Anyway enough of my obsession with anything and everything American.
Today a new Lakeland book came in the mail - I'm tempted to place it straight in the recycling as I'm likely to see things which I don't need. Maybe I should pass it to one of my friends who loves the shop but has more willpower than me!
My mother was clearing out her garden shed earlier in the week and came across a garden rake which she had bought a while back. It has a "grabber" thing so you can collect leaves. She hasn't used it so offered it to me. I'm delighted - it will be much quicker than getting the leave vacuum out and I'll probably use it this weekend. I have one tree (think it may be a white beam) which has started to cast leaves already.
Good news on the insurance FTM - it's nice to hear a good news story for a change.
Hope your daughter is well MrsLW - Ezra is a lovely name. When I first saw you mention "Lentil" I thought she was following in the foot steps of some celebrities and choosing a more "unusual" name. I would claim a momentary blonde moment however I'm beginning to think they are more likely senior moments!0
