Refunds on items reduced in sales

Options
I recently bought a pair of Levis jeans for £85. Within a week the same jeans were reduced to £40 in the same store. Am I entitled to a refund on the difference?

    On the high street? No!

If you haven't worn them and you are still within the return period, the only thing you can do is return them for a refund and buy them again at the lower price.

I thought that there was a rule where if the same item went on sale within a minimum timeframe then the buyer was entitled to claim the difference back?

Your only help as Judith suggets is the store's own policy but would need to be unworn.

No there is no rule - it's a figment of your imagination.

  • If they went up in price, would you be happy to pay the difference the other way?

I think one credit card (can't remember which) does offer this as a perk - but definitely no such rule

It would be the same wherever the OP purchased them from.

Except that an online or mail order purchase provides the consumer with additional rights of return (under DSR). In such situations the OP could return for a full refund then order again at the lower price. (Often a retailer will give a refund of the difference if asked under such situations).

On the high street though there is NO automatic right of return (unless goods are faulty), except where the store's own policy allows this.

Wow, seven whole posts before someone comes out with this ridiculously pointless and irrelevant mantra. We are improving.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.
