    Hi all

Dylan wasn't terribly impressed with the ice cube...it was a bit wet and a bit cold! As for peanut butter, I'd have tried that but that'd would have involved a trip to the shops and I didn't fancy going out into the freezing cold. So I followed Plan C and took a pair of scissors to Dylan's coat. He didn't mind, thought he was getting warm and dry cuddles to make up for the cold and wet ones when he was rubbed with an ice cube. He's got a funny patch of short hair now, not terribly attractive on a cat's butt though it will grow back.

Thanks for your suggestions - I had a good laugh into the bargain!

Ow, bless him. I'm not a cat lover myself but whenever I hear you talk about yours I always find myself warming to them! Glad you got the gum out without too much distress,

a bar of vanish soap works wonders on chewing gum just seems to melt it even when it has been stuck in hair
  • Oooh thanks..the only trouble is that we only have a teeny icebox. Might have to try the vanish soap.

If it's on the lining not actually on the leather the soap will probably work fine, if you put it in the freezer put it in a bag first so it doesn't get wet.

    Hi All

Hope someone can help. My brother in law very kindly took the kids out for a day at the weekend, only to be thanked by my son getting chewing gum stuck on the back seat of his car. I have heard freezing it with ice cubes should get it off. Is this true and will it get it all off as the car is immaculate and very precious to brother in law who keeps it (up to now) as good as new.

    thanks

If you hold an ice cube against the gum it will make it go hard and you may be able to prise it off. If it leves a resdue then WD40 will remove the residue and washing up liquid will remove the WD40.
