Removing Chewing Gum

Sticky stuff remover, I think 3M make it. It's brilliant and smells of yummy oranges0

Need to know how to get this off either or both! It's something sticky, think it's gum but can't be sure, and it's mainly stuck to the stair carpet where the pile has been flattened.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
(I'm more bothered about the carpet as the dog is oblivious to the little patches on its undercarriage; the fur's too short to cut it out, and I suspect other suggestions are going to be more than the mutt will tolerate.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

apparently using an ice cube to freeze it then pick it off works, never tried it myself tho0

My mum always used to put clothes with chewing gum in the freezer (Note: Do not recommend putting dog in freezer
) so I'm guessing the ice cube could work..or how about freezer blocks?

Hi guys!:hello:
I am in urgent need of some Old Style expert advice and wisdom please folks.
I have this friend who - no really, it's not me! - has just found a piece of chewing gum hardened onto her carpet and is desperately trying to get it out because her landlord is coming to do a final check with regards to her deposit tomorrow, before she moves out.
Is there any way this can be done, please? Thank you in advance for your time and advice everyone.:A
