Help MBE grow his dinner 2012

I have some maris piper amincrop potatoes which have been chitting on a windowsill in a cool room for 3-4 weeks now. They still only have very small shoots just popping out o fht epotato and haven't really changed at all in the last 2 weeks. Should they have grown more than this? I'm a bit concerned they're not quite right and am wondering whether I should start chitting some more.
Previously I've only ever used supermarket potatoes which have been starting to sprout so I've no real experience of actually properly chitting them! Any help would be much appreciated.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Hopefully there'll be some nice weather you can enjoy whilst sitting in the garden watching the fruits of the past 6 weeks efforts!:)0 -
I did a brilliant job this morning, dug the last deep trench for the potatoes, added manure, went off and did something else to make my back feel a bit better.
Came back, filled in trench, washed hands, made cup of coffee...... realised I still had a full box of seed potatoes.
Yep, I left them out of the trench :rotfl:Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Thanks Angelfeathers and Lotuseater I do realised moving them was not great but I had to. Will leave them then until May and see what happens as you say they are pretty just wanted to put spuds in the bags as I have too many.

I think I have a tomato seed through, although it possibly might be a white bit of grit?
Anyhow my strawberry plants which I bought from Aldi have flowers on one of them, they are main crop Alsanta I think? They are still in the greenhouse as I can't decide where they are going.Must get my finger out!
I have so much to do its finding where to start and where to put things.
We have 2,4 tier shelving in the greenhouse which is pretty much the same as the shelving in those blowaway greenhouse plasticky things and they are rickety to hell.I just can't get away with them, bit like those microfiber clothes everyone raves about. I'm wanting wooden benches like MRBE but where would I get them from cheaply?
Good luck for later on John, hope you get better soon.xDebt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -

C'mon Lotus, the name of the thread is not "Copy what MBE would do" :rotfl:
I went to work this morning and left my sarnies in the fridge. :doh:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
