Now what can I start off and where bearing in mind it's raining, cold and dark outside just now?
I suggest you plant a tea bag in a cup in the kitchen then go sit down.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I'm using my old mini greenhouses in the greenhouse as staging - luckily I decided not to freecycle the covers so will be putting them on tomorrow when the weather turns here. But my experiment for this season will be coming indoors - I've got melon seedlings :T"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

What's everyone growing this comfrey for?? I googled & it said it's medicinal (this is where I recognised the name from) & can also be used as fertilizer aid.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

What I meant was "Have you considered checking your local Freecycle group for pots and other equipment - you may find you don't need to buy any."
There, that sounds better.
I did actually look on my freecycle group last night & nothing doing. However, I do now have a recipient for my red gravel, once it's bagged up 'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

I didn't grown mine, I inherited it along with the bluebells which I so now regret digging up, as they were beautiful and I believe now protected.
The comfrey just appears annually and does have pretty lemon flowers on it, and mingles well with the dandelions and dock leaves...0 -
I was told our local Morrisons wont sell the pots.
Going under the knife tomorrow so not much gardening for 6weeks now. Got a load done the last few days. Bean sticks are up and beetroot and more carrots under a mesh to stop the birds on the beetroot and the fly on the carrots. Got some Alicante seed on Amateur Gardening this week so put some of those in to try and catch up with my couple of dozen Money Maker and 6 Sweetie seedless. Planted out 20 Little Gems and about half my Alderman peas are up but the germination rate doesn't look too promising. That's about it I think. Oh, and my sweet peppers are about 3" high.0 -
I've had packets of seeds gathering dust for [STRIKE]years[/STRIKE] ages:
Mr. Fothergill's 'guaranteed' pea - Meteor (Sow by 2009)
Mr. Fothergill's Sweetcorn - Ambrosia F1 (Sow by 2009)
These ^^ were a Mother's Day present from my youngest daughter (at least 3 years ago)
Kids cress (Sow by 6/2008)
Nasturtium - Tom Thumb Mixed (sow by 2011) ~ including these as they're edible
Can these still be sown successfully??'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Yes! I was given a few roots earlier this year and discovered too late that slugs/snails eat it:mad: I could send you some slugs/snails to keep the growth down
My neighbour put up a new fence today to replace the one that blew down:( it was so nice without one, lots of light came in, now its just an east facing border again which gets very little light due to b'**dy massive sycamore a few gardens up:( but it does grow lettuce well there in the summer, and one of my rhubarb plants is happy in it's pot too.
My Mexican midget tomatoes died today, don't think they liked my version of a Mexican jungle, where I'd seen them growing. Think I'l just buy a tumbling tom plant instead as I've run out of room for any more seeds indoors.0 -

Only one way to find, sow them! left in the packet they won't grow at allyou'll get some peas and the nasturtiums will probably all germinate, also the cress, only the sweetcorn I'm not sure about.
