Little bit worried about some of the tomato seedlings, like this one:
It's been watered from underneath, so it's nothing to do with that.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
My pear tree is doing things:
One thing it's not doing is being trained into an espalier, and I'm meant to be doing that. I thought I'd ordered one that was pre-trained, but turns out I'd ordered a cordon so I don't really know what I'm doing with it.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Raspberries and Tayberry are planted:
I don't know how well the Tayberry will do as it didn't have much in the way of a root system. Time will tell I guess. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
The comfrey's coming through nicely:
And I'm attempting to revive my VFTs. Scrawny-looking specimens they are, so I need to try and give them some TLC so I can plant them in the bog barrel when that's done.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Beautiful warm sunny day here today so toddled off to the garden centre just for a look around.
Big sign on the motorway...snow expected on Monday. I pity all the poor plants who are happily basking in sunshine not knowing what's ahead of them.
32 sqm of fleece was reduced to £4.99. No idea if that's a good price or not but I bought it anyway. My seedlings are in a very cold porch so I'm going to cover them up despite the fact they are technically indoors.
Garden centre had loads of greenhouses and summer houses on show. I really want a big proper greenhouse. But I'd have to get a big proper garden first.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I've started a log pile. Moved a shelf bracket as they were too wide apart, dismantled a pallet to make the shelves, hand-sawed a few logs. Another couple of shelves like that, above head height so I can still walk through the entrance, and I'll have room for plenty.
Need to make a log-horse so I can use the chainsaw. I cut these few logs by hand because I couldn't work out how to hold the log with one hand and the chainsaw with two hands. I don't think it's a one-handed tool somehow. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Sounds like a good price to me. I've covered up the prize-winning carrots, just in case. Should I do the beetroot seedlings too?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Why take the risk? If it can't run away...fleece it. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -

Yes whilst beetroot is fairly hardy, seedlings are not so I'd keep them away from frost and snow if you get any........and if you do keep it 'up north' please:D this softy southerner liked the nice warm temps for the last couple of weeks0 -
