I'm sitting in front of a log fire, roasting chestnuts and sorting my seed box, bliss :D except my blight resistant tomato seeds aren't there and I can't think where else I would have put them

Happy new year everyone and here's to a dry, sunny, and warm summer next year

MBE; as you are otherwise occupied these days, a reminder not to forget to start a new thread ;)

Happy new year to all who read the green fingered forum! Here is hoping for a great growing year for us all!

@Mr Bad. Good for you for having such a good time away from us all. Long may the fun continue!

@ annie, you just reminded me i have a bag of chestnuts downstairs in the fridge. Must use them tomorrow or they will be going off!

    ....

Just a thought, but maybe someone should begin a general gardening chat thread for 2013 so we all have somewhere to chat on this board ? What says y'all?

Happy new year everyone :hello: sorry I've been missing in action for a few months. Work became crazily busy Nd took over, coupled with the bad weather it skippered my gardening.
I have to confess that I haven't cleared the veg patch yet and it therefore still has carrots in it and remnants of runner beans :o
I've got all my seeds ready for this year though and need to start planning the planting as I'm away for the last 2 weeks in may so I might need some advice on what to plant and when-I'm hoping my lovely neighbour will water for me whilst I'm away but can't expect too much to be done!
Anyway,I look forward to the 2013 thread MBE...MBE....MBE! He he

MBE. What were your opinions of the grafted Toms compared to non grafted? Toby Buckland didn't see too much difference if any.

    2012 started 21st Jan
    2011 started 12th Jan
    2010 started 12th Feb

Can't find the previous ones but it would appear he favours the numbers 1 and 2 in combinations.
So he could wait till the 21st Jan? or even worse 21st Feb? or maybe it ties in with a lunar cycle? or numerology? or maybe he's decided he doesn't want our friendly help and support any more? or he could have set up on another forum

Oh yes, forgot about that. Oh well, see him after valentines day then.

In the absence of a new thread I'll post here.
I have found my missing tomato seeds :D What they were doing next to the bread flour I don't know but just pleased I found them. Especially as I discovered next door ignored my instructions about not composting blighted tomatoes :wall:

As DD has moved out I'm reconfiguring her room so I can get a table up by the window this weekend. The room has a nice big north facing window just right for chitting spuds.
Unfortunately I have stuff from DS stored in there so that's going back to him or the dump.
Cleaned out the root trainers for some broad beans and maybe some early peas too. No good sowing outside as the broad beans rot over winter and the peas get eaten. So I'm hoping if I start them in a cool room with no heating they will adjust to outside quickly when through. May not work but worth a try I thought.
