Ok you may have had a point
Not loads but; 5 round ones from the brolly one3 poss from 2 others and the little patio star ones are thinking of producing flowers....they do make a very small plant, I'm amazed. Don't think this years weather is a good trial for them so might try them again next year.
My BNS has little stubbs where flowers may grow if it keeps warmer and dryer :j and my runners beans are producing pods properly at last, various chillis have peppers on them albeit small.
Cucumber question.
The 25p cucumber called 'Indoor' from homebase is covered in flowers and tiny baby Q's, which would be good except I wondered if being called Indoor it should be in a greenhouse? in which case they will taste bitter won't they as I haven't removed the male flowers?0 -

Well pleased. Even if there are lumps missing out of my runner bean leaves.
Don't know what leaves my bees are using, but they're not from my garden 'cos they fly off over the fence and around the house. Probably next door's roses. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
I had 5 female squash flowers out today, and not a single male flower to pollinate them.
So typical - never a bloke about when you need one!If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -
Hi everyone, it's quiet on here today-are you all in the garden? It's been raining here with sharp showers so hence being in the house. I did start pruning my wisteria but stopped as I realised I needed another pair of eyes on it and also it was about to rain
I have some toms ready to harvest today and took more onions and potatoes out yesterday. The tatties are low yields this year compared to what I got from them last year (maris bard).
My new french beans seem to be coming on ok as do the new mange tout. Black currants are ready now and then the plant can be pruned. Unfortunately the weather is not set to be good for the next two weeks-boo.
Oh, I also have some chillis ready-jalapenos and wenks hot yellows, both taste nice. I also have sweet peppers that are just ripening now-so that's better than it was but still not ideal.0 -
Runner Beans, Peas and new potatoes from the garden for dinner today
Even the chicken we had with it had a smile on his face.

Got back just after midnight last night.
Plants looked
I suspect that the person "looking after them" has been watering them less frequently than required. Hot weather has probably made em sit on their backside rather than look after my plants.
Had to give them a soaking straight away.
Am at work wanting to go home to sort them out.
I am hopeful I can salvage them. I am annoyed at people offering to look after them & then not looking after them.
MrBE, how hot has it been here the past week? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

 High twenties? Pretty hot, anyway. Sorry to hear your plants aren't as well as you hoped. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

I wish I had runner beans. Another couple of weeks for mine, I reckon. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I nearly have ripe tomatoes... who'd have thought I'd see the day!
Runner beans have flowered but not seen much of anything else. Strawberries ended up getting thrown because the slugs couldn't get enough of them!
The rest are doing ok I think.
Oh, and I'm fifth on the council waiting list for an allotment!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Well done with the tomatoes :T mine are still pea sized
Had to bin every strawb of mine too, only ones the snails haven't got at are the alpines strawbs I put on the garage roof, (shh, don't think snails know they're up there) tasty, but not exactly a glut when only 3 ripe at a time"We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."
