Yay, the courgette glut has started!

Now I don't know what to do with them all :rotfl:

How many courgette plants do you have LE?

My latest courgette pickings ended up chopped and used in a stir fry.

I only had one surviving plant so don't have many courgettes, which is just as well as I'm not overly fond of them anyway. :D

Show offs :p I will pop and check mine tomorrow

I've got 5, but only 4 are producing atm, today was the first glut sized quantity of harvest from them. :D
Almost August........ I'm normally bored of them by now and willing them to die :rotfl:

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

MBE did you make your home for the leaf cutter bees or did you buy it? I want to make my garden more insect friendly. I do have a lady bird house although nothing went in it! Don't know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.:)

    All home made:

    DSCF3835.jpg

A box with some dried hollow plant stems, and a couple of pallet blocks drilled with different size holes. The chipboard block proved popular as it has nice smooth sides, but the leafcutters didn't seem to mind the other one.

Incidentally, the little "bee" I posted earlier is actually a species of potter wasp. :D

Mr BE is very proud of his HM items and so he should be!

Me?........ the front wall of my house is a labyrinth of holes dug by generations of bees, I keep saying I must mortar them up, but it never seems the right time, either the new ones are coming out, or the adults are building nests, or they are incubating :D
So I live in a holey house :) if it falls down, you will all be the first to know :D

Try and give the holes more protection from the elements by setting them further back in the box. Mine doesn't keep the rain out too well.:o
