I have to say, it is all extremely neatly organised. :T
I like things to be placed in an orderly fashion. :rotfl:
I'm not really that neat on the whole, I just like my plants so I make the effort with them.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Looks like you are starting a nursery
Looks very neat and tidy, mine never looks like thatFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
MBE, are the spikes that you put on the top of your fence proving successful or not? And what make were they and where did you purchase them from??? I need some desperately now as a new neighbour 2 doors away has 2 cats that seem to enter our garden every night. I either buy spikes (the sharper the better) or I put the money towards a gun.0

Lol, that's exactly what I thought, infact I've been to nurseries where they have less stuff!!
Seriously impressed, alias, you've obviously worked very hard & everything looks so healthy :T
Ps. I must have just caught the outside pics before you deleted them ~ how many raised beds?!'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Thank you.
I have 8 with covers and 7 without.
I've collected them over a period of a couple of years though (only ever on offer) and have been given some as presents.
I've sown a fair bit in case I lose some along the way. I'd be upset if I only had a few things and they died. :undecided
At least this way, if I have too many of *whatever*, I can give the extras to anyone that wants them.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Do you line the inside of the raised beds, it looked like they didn't have a bottom?? Definitely want to get some of them, they look brill.
I wish we were neighbours, I could definitely take some of your surplus off your hands!!'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Yes you can get liners for them. The liners usually cost between £5 & £7 full price (which is silly money imo) but I've been paying £2.45 which is fine considering it would cost that much at least for a couple of meters of weed control fabric to use as a home made liner.Herman - MP for all!0 -

A bit hit and miss John - you might as well just go for the gun.
Seriously though, yes, they have made a difference:
Do they keep cats out? No.
Do they discourage cats and make it easier for them to go somewhere else? Yes.
Can cats walk on them? Yes.
Do they use the fence tops as highways? Not so much.
They don't like them, that's for sure. It has made the difference between my garden being their territory and toilet to being somewhere they can still go if they really want to, but mostly don't. A neighbour at the back has just built a home-made shed by the back fence, so the cats can now hop from shed to shed and avoid them altogether. The spikes, combined with water sprayer and the effect of me aggressively chasing them off every time I see one has cut the numbers down a lot. I've seen a few footprints in the beds this year, but virtually no faeces.
I got them from this seller on eBay. I've seen them for at least three times the price in garden catalogues. You know, the ones you pick up and leaf through, muttering "How much? More money than sense, some people!"If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
