Hmm... still need to find out how to add text to under a picture.
That's my little garden.
The bit to the right of the path has (from front to back) herbs and garlic in the ground, the black troughs have some radish and spring onion in the front one and the other two are for lettuce/salad leaves. Raspberries in between the canes and rhubarb in at the back. The pots in the middle are full of potatos (couldn't dig over that bit as it is full of huge slabs of rubble.)
Oh, MBE, I do buy seeds and mealworms to keep the visting robins happy. (B & M and Home Bargins)
The bit on the left is still a work in progress! It's getting there slowly. The sun comes up over the back and moves round to the right so the patch on the left will get the sun from about 7 till 4. The rest of the garden (the dog pen!) is nearly permanent shade.
Bedroom window is gonna look a bit crowded soon:0 -
If anyone else posts pics of sprouting tomatoes, I'm going to lose it...:mad::mad::mad::mad:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

Lovely deep window sills, just right for seedlings:)lemonjelly wrote: »If anyone else posts pics of sprouting tomatoes, I'm going to lose it...:mad::mad::mad::mad:
When my new camera cable eventually turns up:mad: I can post pics of beef toms, good stocky little plants:p they are desperate to be re potted up to their seed leaves must get that done tomorrow.
I'm sure you said you had some things sprouting, so not all bad.
Give your toms a little bit of heat, on top of the boiler maybe? they'll soon pop up, honest!0 -
I think your pond is too close to the fence (too late now mbe), as I think you need enough room to take a step backwards just in cas you need purchase for anything. For example someone mentioned the fence panels. You don't want to be putting a foot in the pond or are you planning a bridge (made out of recycled pallets / decking boards of course).
Hoping to get something planted by the weekend here, it's still freezing. Would it be a good idea to use the cats multi height scratching post to put seed trays on. She barely even sniffs at it, and I may have the only cat which is scared of heights!0 -

My sprouting tomatoes are still in the garden centre.....
John - welcome back. Good to have your wisdom (and rugby taste) back.
MBE - must admit that I'm envious of your pond. But, can you grow useful and edible stuff in it?
More updates, and possibly photos, from me tomorrow. Don't hold your breath though.0 -

Too painful to sit here for long though so I'll have to have little bursts in between guiding my wife round the garden and greenhouse jobs. She's being wonderful. but she hasn't started the 2 weeks driving me around yet. That could be fun. I think not....lol
I don't think I will be doing much this weekend, just checking on things. Woke up to a bad frost this morning but the sun has come out and it seems to be thawing nicely.
Oh & I have flowers on some of my tomato plants, not sure if I should be :j or  they are on the early vine tom's I had from real seed company, but even so they're still in the house and have flowers on them. Will try and do a pic!0 -
Tom pics
First is the galina tomato from real seed company-a very early yellow cherry tom it says on their website:
Next is the stupice, again an early vine cherry tom-only a couple of flowers on this. But I have 3 with flowers on them now:
So, what do people think? Should I get my grow bags in the greenhouse ready and pot these in or should I just keep them in the house???0 -

My Galina might have had flowers if they hadn't had their heads ripped off instead. :mad:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
