It's to talk about online dating really, but the chat often covers general dating as well. It's not meant as a replacement for a dating website, although it seems to have become one, in some respects :)

Just stick your head round the door and say hello, we're a friendly bunch :)

If I were you, I'd get yourself over to the Online Dating thread, there are 4 definite couples who have met through it and if my weekend goes well, that will be 5 :j

Woo hoo! Best of luck, Stephen!

  • Can I tell you the true cost of internet dating....
    1 husband
    5 years together
    2 years married
    2 cats
    1 dog
    1 rabbit
    an £80k mortgage
    a 2/3 bed house
    a little garden
    2 cars
    very little spare cash

    shed loads of happiness!

I met my husband through friends reunited dating, it used to be one of the cheapest sites though I don't think it is now and I obviously haven't researched current costs of sites.

However, I wanted to wish you all the luck in the world, you will get some weirdos, I can almost guarantee that but it is part of the journey and I hope you find your special someone!

    met my partner through bbwdating.co.uk

    Free to join.
You can send the sites free messages..But if you want to write one yourself it costs £4.99 for a week.

Some ppl save up a load of messages and then join to respond to them all.

But the girl I met is well worth the £4.99 lol cheap date

I found the rates for match.com. A bit steep I think.

To find the love of your life?

I found my now husband through the Sunday Times personals in the days before it had the premium rate numbers. I paid to advertise, I think it was about £100 a pop. Took 3 attempts before I found my Mr Right. Best money I've ever spent. :rotfl:

Facebook has a number of dating style applications on it.
I've spent tonight deleting my accounts on datingdirect and match due to losing interest in them.
People rave about plentyoffish, but I've not really found it any better. I might be missing something though. I got bored after all my emails were ignored. Am I supposed to just keep working at it?
    Happy chappy

I've been on Plentyoffish for about 9 mths, have chatted to quite a few people on there, i think some are there just to play games, and often people complain because of the number of people who don't reply to your messages. At first i thought it was just me, helps to know it happens to others, still a lot of ignorant people around.
I spend a lot of time in the forums now, i think if you see a regular 'poster', you get a better idea of thier personality than what someone may write on thier profile. I think this helps sort out some of the wierdos. I can confirm it is 100% free, so you have nothing to lose by having a go.
