I suspect that the 40-50 year old men are looking for 30 yrear old women.
No doubt that's true but i think you'll find it works both ways, i've seen a lot of women who are 50+ saying they are only interested in hearing from younger men.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

I wouldn't be interested in younger men, would have nothing in common with them. I think it's great reminiscing about programmes from our childhood and music of the late 70s, early 80s etc......0

I tried that on an open weekend they had where you could join for free..spent an obsene amount of time filling it all in and then found there was no matches for me!
Match is £29.99 per month and they dont have a monthly direct debit feature either to make it cheaper which is rubbish
Try Zoosk and UK Dating Direct; the only annoying thing about UK Dating Group is that they do a free 'ice breaker's so you get all these emails and you never know if they are actually for you or an ice breaker sent to you plus hundreds of others.
I'm on POF, UK Dating Group, Zoosk (all the same old faces on them) and have been on Match.. I'm giving up! Ive been chatting to a guy I met on POF who lives 5 miles away from me since April last year and have still never met him!
Edited to say; I get loads of winks off older men in their late 50's; jeez; Im 38 for gods sake.. i'm still youngish, not desperate,0 -
I'm not sure about the rest of you (and it could be paranoia on my part) but I swear since I've turned the big 4-0 last April that the level of interest dwindles on your profile? I look younger than my years (not being big headed, just get told that a lot, good genes from my granny) but I honestly think the number affects how people see you?
I read somewhere that after 40 you have more chance of being struck by lightning than meeting a decent man?!
Jesus, that post has totally depressed me! I'm 40 next year0 -
Only just spotted this thread, I met my wife to be just short of years ago on match.
I remember my thoughts at the time of 'only the freaks must go on there' and then to counter in my head of 'I'm not a freak and I am considering it, maybe they aren't all freaks'.
The funny thing is we live within 3 miles of each other and i am exactly 1 month older than her, we have mostly the same interests but also have enough to have fun apart.
We talked about it and figured despite living so close the odds on us meeting where next to none, in short in our local town centre she was sick of drunken blokes trying it and I had just given up on the whole idea of pulling on nights out which was very liberating not worrying about it and having a laugh.
It may have been fate or just random chaos, all I know is we are happy we did it.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Completely agree Frames. I prefer men my own age, or even a bit older. I think a much younger man would make me feel paranoid about getting old instead of feeling younger!
I also probably wouldn't be able to cope with their 'techno' music or radio station choice - Radio 2 all the way for me:T

I've been on dating sites for about 5 years
Tried Girlsdateforfree and it was ok, but i hate the fact you get lots of messages from girls till you pay the membership and then they strangely all disappear
Currently on POF, Had hopes of it as a few of my friends- female and male- had met people off there and seemed to work.
Now been there for 2 years and had just a few dates, which didn't lead to anything unfortunately.
I live in constant hope that there is that person out there for me.
I say good luck to us all0 -
trouble is, the harder you look, the less likely you are to meet the right one. (so everyone says!)0

I've recently joined Smooch and had an interesting message this morning, i think it may be some sort of phishing.
The girl said she'd never done this before and joined after a crappy relationship had gone wrong, she lived about 40mls from me; was 3" taller; and 30yrs younger. She said she was having trouble loading a photo but gave me a yahoo email address of her own and said if i emailed her she'd be able to send me one.
It wasn't well written but then many people have never learnt English grammar and spelling.
Has anyone else ever received something similar.
Update,
I always reply to messages, even to the odd ones, it's only polite after someone has taken the time so even if it's only saying 'thanks but no thanks'. Now i've replied and my message was read, a few minutes later someone from Ukraine viewed my profile, their profile was almost identical to the first one.
Further update:
I sent a message to smooth to tell them to check these two girls, i could just delete them but feel i should warn others who may fall victim. Now i don't believe it but tonight i've had a third message, almost identical profile as the first two but this time from San Francisco.
Maybe they're not scammers, maybe they're just three women younger enough to be my daughter who want my body.
Yes i think that's it, My lucks in.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
