I tried match for 6 months - was £60 for 6 months but you got £45 from quidco. Plus i did what was required to get the 6 months free. Met lots of pleasant men and one fling for a while.
Also used pof, again met loads of quite okay men, including current chap who moved in after 4 months.
Its all a matter of location, if your in London, there are so much more choice anyway.
My tips would be, email anyone suitable, arrange to meet up asap with anyone who sounds suitable for a quick coffee/drink after work. Don't build things up too much in your mind, so your not disappointed. And meeting asap also weeds out the many people who don't intend to ever meet.
I remember one chap on match, he contacted me and lived in next tube stop. He said it was "too risky" to meet, it was too soon. but still wanted to chat. He got blocked, whats so risky about a coffee on a Saturday afternoon, its either sparks flying and a date, or a quick coffee and then we both go off and do our shopping.0 -
living in a rural location sure doesn't help with the numbers of suitables!0

I'm not sure about the rest of you (and it could be paranoia on my part) but I swear since I've turned the big 4-0 last April that the level of interest dwindles on your profile? I look younger than my years (not being big headed, just get told that a lot, good genes from my granny) but I honestly think the number affects how people see you?
I read somewhere that after 40 you have more chance of being struck by lightning than meeting a decent man?!
I agree with you, Im heading towards the big 50 soon and I only seem to get men in their 60s or very young men send messages, I sometimes wonder what has happened to 40-50 yr olds on these sites, but i guess they are all taken0 -
I suspect that the 40-50 year old men are looking for 30 yrear old women..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I am just passing by but I met my OH of nearly a year now on Match.com and am moving in with him in 2 weeks so there are good men on there! I met him within a month of joining as a paid member too, with Match though they sent me a £20 for 6 mth offer after me being on there for 4 mths for free so join and hang on and you might get a deal. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0

Ahh a glimmer of hope for the rest of us. And congrats lilmiss x"...and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make".0 -
Just thought I'd update you all. I went speed dating just over a week ago. Never thought anything would come of it but I met up with one of the guys tonight and had a lovely evening. Hopefully date number 2 soon.:j0
