I just wanted to ask if anyone has seen any colour catchers? Doesnt matter if it Vanish or Dr Browns.

I don't know if you have a L*dl near you but they sometimes have Dr Magic snatch a dye - 20 sheets for 99p.

I always stock up when they are available.

Thank you for that.We do have one, we're in the fortunate position of having all of the stores from Lido to Mr C, all within a 5ish minute drive from us. The cheapest I could find was £2 for 12 sheets.

I'm thinking of applying for C*st*0 or Bookers, so Im going with a friend next week who already has cards so I can look around.I think it'll end up being bookers though as the other one charges for membership.
  • Ok weekly update time:

Last posted when I was -4.15.

    Money in:
£37.24 to pay for items including washing powder, pizza, bottle of perfume, crisps etc.

    Money out:
£20.74 for tuna pasta bake mixes, nivea aftershave balms, cheese, biscuits and chicken.

This leaves me with: £13.35 in the purse after my weekly shop :)

Not sure if I'm totally doing this right, but this seems like good news to me!

  • hi mrs ats :)

I asked if more tests could be done to establish if there was a reason why it was so low and was told they'd done all the blood tests they could ( i was in there last year nearly every month for several) then she told me that it had always been pretty low and asked if i'd been told this before. WHich obviously i hadn't *derrrr* so they wouldn't do anything else. I'm always ill though or have a cold and my diet has never been really bad?! I've always been borderline anaemic too but the tablets play havoc with my tummy and they don't prescribe spatone, and i can't afford it anymore  Am def trying to cut down on the stuff i know causes my ibs though, see if that may help xx

MEN!!!!!!!!!! (that is all i need/have to say) :rotfl:
Hi dfw321 :). Sometimes doctors drive you mad don't they . Iron tabs can be rough on the stomach but like Edwardia suggested, the injections might help if you can get them. Also if you do manage to get your ibs under control, your 'guts' might settle and then you might absorb more iron from the food you eat. xx

  • Finally caught up a bit now, and have done some sums, updated signature too. Money seems to be going in and out of the 2nd purse all the time. all these sums are testing my mental maths! Quite taken with your alternative plan re 3rd purse jakes-mum, will give that some thought. My stocks are rapidly growing tho' so may not be waiting too long for that elusive £100.

OMG Im even more addicted to bargains than I was before  been to asda today and bought

6 x Sharwoods Curry Sauce, on offer at 3 for £3 (usual price £1.35 each)
3 x Haagendaz cookies and cream, their usual price of £3 but everywhere else is £4.45 standard price so im counting that as a reduction as I have been paying the £4.45 these last few weeks
6 multipacks of steak and onion walkers, on offer 3 for £3.50 (though these are always on offer there :rotfl: I always buy in bulk as they are the only shop round here that sell the S+O flavour in a 6 bag multipack :D, wont be included in my stock pile but just saying incase anyone else likes that particular flavour :D)

so another £38 on shopping this month, but I know it will even itself out over the coming months, speculate to accumulate as they say :o off to update my spreadsheet

My order with DR has brought the funds in my second purse right down.

    1st purse (normal food one) - £57.78
    2nd purse - £1.30
    3rd purse - nothing yet ;)

My stockpile is currently valued at £104.91 :D I've not even included the mountain of looroll hiding behind the TV unit in that! When I do my next bulk buy of looroll I will start counting it.

This challenge has prompted me to be more organised generally about my food shopping. I sat down on Friday and did my first mealplan in months. I now have a mealplan taped to the fridge along with a full inventory of what is in the freezer, listed by which drawer it's in. As I make a meal from the plan, I adjust the inventory.

I'm going to have groaning freezers by the weekend, as Mama and Papa Fresian are coming to visit. They live in the north of Scotland and like to bring meat with them when they visit :rotfl: I normally end up with some lamb chops, shoulders and gigots, and there has been the threat of some highland cow mince too. We're trying to eat as many things from the freezer as we can this week to prepare :D

    Brrrr, morning all.

Have bought a few things back from my stockpile over the last few days, so my 2nd purse total is standing at about £19 and my stock total at £61. Think I have been being a bit cautious about what I'm buying, so when I go to MrT tomorrow will have a look to see what bargains I can snaffle.

Rellies not now coming over today for DS1s birthday, as they live 25 miles away and I don't feel it's fair to make them come over in the snow - just for a bit of chilli! DS1 is at the shops now spending his birthday money - teenagers huh :p

Have a good day everyone and keep safe and warm.
