She's exactly a month old today.Born two weeks early at 15:42.I cant sleep when she does as I have two others...DS1 is 5 and DS2 is 18 months now.We struggled to conceive DS2 and eventually had him in August 2010 after fertility treatment.

DS1 was awfully hard work being colicky and me being a single mum in South Africa (his "dad" was a rebound from my DH who needed a kick up the bum to see we were meant to be together and DS1 was the glue.DH came to SA to fetch us two days after DS1's first birthday.

Moving on to DS2 he was hard work to conceive but was a textbook baby-even now he's mostly compliant although h has become quite boistrous and is almost as big as DS1.We planned to have a tubal ligation when we delivered him but the paperwork wasnt done and we only thought to ask when I was being "put back together" (all the babies were cs's because I have cerebral palsy.

You can imagine our shock when he was 9 months old and we discovered another pregnancy-and she is DS1 all over again.

My thoughts are with you as the first few months are sheer hell - no wonder sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture. There's no way I would have left my babies (when they were babies) crying to to housework either (what planet is your DH on?!). If he's that bothered he can do the housework himself ;). Sending *hugs*.

  • Quick update for my 2nd purse as DD1 has relieved me of some stock to take back to Uni with her ;):

    Balance: -£20.77

    Stock sold: £10.46

    New 2nd purse balance: -£10.31

This now gives me an actual grocery budget of about £38 for this week. I'm not sure if that will be enough, but will do a full mealplan before ordering the shopping so that I can get it as close to the budget as possible.

PD - hope you can get some rest and that your DH gets his act together ;).

He's normally quite good and to be fair all through both pregnancies he was very hands on and I didnt do any of the work in the house.I think he's mostly just stressed over work as he's about to be transferred to a new company under TUPE law but they've not been forthcoming with the details. He also spent the whole weekend at work.
He was like a bear with a sore head and we had an arguement where I asked him what I can do to help as he kept saying he needs time.

    Anyway-for purse:
I need to get in a few things: Toothpaste (we use the colgate plunger),colour catchers, and shampoo (the boys use Tesco Apple and Tea tree and I use Pantene-I did a savvy me assignment last year and got a booklet for £1 off each item,so Ill use those but will also look for a deal to use it for).

I'm playing catch up after being absent since Friday but want to do an interim post before I forget everything I want to say :rotfl:

Ack. I already created an account :(. I'll try their website on my PC shortly & see if I have better luck on there.

Ah Mothership, feel free to rant. I have been there and sometimes it's good to get it out. I've found Holosync works to help me sleep better - I don't meditate with it like you're supposed to, I just listen whilst reading.
When I was sicker I found that Maximol Solution helped a lot - tasted awful, but helped. I don't need the Solution anymore (when it tastes alright you don't need it anymore) but I do take Revenol tablets, they do seem to help some.
You kinda try everything until you you find something that works.

I completely forgot about Maximol. I used to take it before I was diagnosed an always flet good on it. Not cheap but worth it and I think I have 3 bottles lurking around somewhere. Has sugar in it, which I should avoid but I think it's minimal and worth it. Thanks for the reminder :T

Aww! sweetheart, I know exactly how you feel, I used to get so upset with exactly the same things. So many people think you are faking it because you look ok, the worst offenders were my own family, particularly my oldest daughter, she doesn't speak to me now, she still to this day doesn't realise how ill I was. I went through years of doctors saying it was all in my head 'psychosomatic'. After years of agony, when it finally went away and I went back to one of those Drs and told him that the illness that he thought I imagined had gone away. I think diet was a big factor in it going, but I had to do it myself.
The Spinach and Avocado soup is a good place to start, its an acquired taste for some, and if you can get a copy of the Superfoods book. There is a chapter on fatigue, I used that and one of the other chapters, I will have a look and see what one it was.
Another thing I used to help my concentration was aromatherapy oil, a few drops of Basil oil on a cotton ball (put on a radiator)or in a spray mixed with water works too. You can buy little burners quite cheap.
I got rid of my ME and I know a lot of people who got better, and I've helped a lot of them. For all of you out there who are suffering with it please don't give up hope. I will do everything I can to help. We can quite easily do it alongside the 2nd Purse. In the meantime I'm sending all of you LOVE and LIGHT and big hugs xx

I was off work on Friday and have arrived this morning to find my copy of Superfoods has arrived (bought with am@zon vouchers earned via sw@gbucks :D) Can't wait to have a read on the train home :)

Aaah! That was one of the things that made me really ill when I had ME, overdosing on sugar, I used to eat a banana or two like Kerri. I was convinced at one point that the ME was controlling my cravings as I had never eaten much sugar, when I replaced it with things like fruit & banannas etc. AND stopped eating too many things with yeast .( Soda bread is good or sourdough, and Potato scones) Wine also made me feel unwell. I noticed a big improvement. I came to the conclusion that the ME virus needed certain things to survive, so through years of experimenting I think I eventually hit on what it was feeding on and starved it out.

By the way the Marmalade fiasco is true I wrote it exactly as it happened, my family say I'm a cross between Michael Crawford's 'Some mothers do have em" and Delia Smith lol. My cooking experiments have been a source of great amusement to my lot. When they work they can be 'really good', but sometimes like with the marmalade, well what can I say . I learn from my mistakes :). I've since found an easier way to make it.

My doctor's method for helping my CFS was to treat me for Candida. He has done a lot of research and said he'd rarely found a patient without it. So out of the diet went yeast or any fungus (mushrooms, truffles, anything fermented : cheese, vinegar, wine), plus anything that would feed the yeast (i.e. sugar in it's various forms, though limited lactose and natural fructose seemed to be ok for me). I was by no means cured by following this plan, but certainly noticed a marked improvement. I also stumbled across an online (pdf) book by someone called Dr Mayhill (or Myhill, something like that). May be worth a google search as I found it quite interesting (pretty technical in places so make sure you have the energy before you embark on reading though ;))

    Anyway, back on topic......

Not much to report really. Bought 3 more of OH's deodorants while they're still half price (he gets through sooooo much :rotfl:). Only purchases out of HH have been loo rolls this week, which I've not paid for yet as not enough to meet minimum online transfer amount  However, I have made a mess of things by setting up a standing order from my grocery account to a separate 2nd purse account but started it too early so got too much in there this month (already taken cash for whole of Feb :o) Will withdraw cash at the end of the month and use it for grocery shop, effectively paying it back. Makes sense to me, anyway ;)

Probably will post again soon as have about 3-4 more pages to read but if not, I shall wish you all a happy Monday

My purse hasn't been used this weekend [it only has £4.56 in it] as we had snow and didn't go out. I'm trying not to use it for bargains until I put another £10 in it at the end of the month as I really need to use up some of the things we have here!!

Polka dot, there are 12 months between my younger two so i know all about sleep deprivation & house being a tip :rotfl: i hope you manage to catch up on some sleep soon (3 years later and my kids still don't sleep so i'm always looking for nap opportunities :p)

My second purse has been topped up....thanks to DH :wall: I told him to tell me if he takes anything from certain cupboards & explained the system to him and he still doesn't really get it. yesterday he took some butter...........he used up 500g in one day  making cakes with the kids and some mash potato :eek: Then turned round and said well we have about 10 tubs of it doesn't matter. yup he's really not getting the point of it! Anyway i ended up paying about £8 in as he went and got other stuff out of another cupboard......have updated signature with amount (can't remember it now!) but think i may need to explain things again & again (and probably AGAIN) till he understands, we are supposed to be saving money not using up as much as we can as quick as we can *doh* !!!!!

I received my £15 M&S voucher from the Living Social deal that was on the other day today, so that's in the purse until later in the month. It's valid for two years I think, so I'll wait until there are good offers on in M&S (Maybe a cheeky wee Dine In for a Tenner :D)

Thank you for all the sleepy posts etc-definately helps being reminded that Im not alone. Im contemplating trying to get supper going before he gets home, she's stirring now but I think its a bum one,so Im going to file the farmfoods vouchers, change her and see if she'll hang out in the kitchen for me for a bit.

My home bargains order arrived just now with 4 boxes of PG Tips @ £3.99 per box of 240 tea bags-current price on Mr T is £5.99, so £8.00 profit once they're finished.
