A fellow M.Eer herebeen unable to work for over 2 years now and have a serious phobia of the doctors
We are not sure if M.E is acutally hereditary as my eldest sister also contracted it at 18 and it seems my nan and great nan used to take to their beds for weeks on endhope not, dont want to pass it on to one of my kids
I believe its a virus to start with, and its been around for many years , mine started with a flu like illness. I've done loads of experiments with various foods, I had a big problem with supermarket meat and yeasts. I posted a recipe for Spinach and Avocado soup on the GC thread, it's made with superfoods, my kids call it Popeye soup, its lightly cooked and delicious. I used to eat that a lot when I had ME.
Try and get a copy of Superfoods ( Michael van Stratten).
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0863184944Its only 1p +delivery.
It has a section in it with a list of superfoods that will help you, I've been fine for 15 years now, and I think it was down to this book.
Good luck and lots of hugs xx
Helen Pie I think the above book would help you too.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

I'm kind of fortunate in that I don't have ME but I do have CFS (i.e. I have the exhaustion and a weak immune system, amongst other issues, but don't have the muscle weakness/pains). It's really lovely to hear of someone that's managed to come out the other side of it. :T Definitely fed up of doctors - mostly telling me that there was nothing wrong with me for years! Only found one that believed I had a problem about 2 years ago but had probably had it for 12 years at that point
It seems ive had it since I was 18, I was finally diagnosed at 30  seems I had just been existing and each year we had taken a holiday we couldn't afford was giving me enough of a boost to claw through the next year to the next holiday. When we stopped taking holidays as we decided to deal with the debt my body finally gave up. I really did believe that day at work that I had flu and would go back to work the next week
Thing I miss most is the ability to walk as far as I want to, walk round the supermarket and reach things on the top shelf, am down to 30 metres now and its getting worse
As another inspirational M.E story my sister (38 now) has come out the other side, she still suffers with the bad tum and occasionally has a bad day but she drives all over the place, is on the PTA, works from home, can walk as far as she wants, goes on holidays :T really gives me hope to see her as I remember what it was like when she had the glandular fever and then the M.E startedmy mum used to carry her to the loo and hold her up
EDIT: I should say mine started with a 6 month diahoroea illness (yes 6 months ) after eating spaghetti, bacon and melted cheesecant eat any of those things now

Thanks. My doctor was certain diet would help, and it did to a great extend (eliminating yeasts and sugars) but I've been terrible about following it so must try harder! (isn't that another classic issue with CFS/ME - we always want too much from ourselves!?)
Thanks.:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0 -

It is indeed! but one step at a time. I started by introducing some of the recommended superfoods to my diet and I did begin to feel better. I still eat them but not as much. Having a poor immune system is crippling, you wont get any help from the Dr for it either, it's down to you.
What I found was the most soul destroying symptom of the ME was the depression that just hit you from nowhere.
So many times I thought the ME was gone and boom it hit again. But don't lose hope, I know a lot of people who have shaken it off. I will do everything I can to help

I was just thinking how similar some of our circumstances are, too.

I nearly spat my coffee out lol .... yes it's a good thing and we're all VERY glad about it. Not just because of the 2nd purse obviouslydreamerbea wrote: »Ahh my two are both prone to crystals and are now both on science plan but I love them so much they are worth it - Pets at H currently have Science Plan on 3 for 2 so I have stocked up
Awww. Last time Iams were on 3 for 2 I got a load. I'll have a look at the Science Plan stuff. Maybe try them with a small pack to see if they like it. I've always maintained if I could only afford food for the cats or food for me, they would come first every time. If I was hungry enough I'm sure I could wolf down a small bowl of cat munchies :undecided0
