  • Ah thanks Sue, Mrs ATS, DFW321 and Kerri - makes sense now, I think!! (Well it does they way you have all explained it, just need my brain to register). So to clarify it depends on what purse you buy the items out of on how you pay back. Can I ask tho, is it better buying for stock from 2nd purse or 1st purse?

    Hi everyone,

First purchase from my still-to-be-named shop today. Refill for the coffee jar, paid £2.10, money to 2nd purse £4 :D

I would say 2nd purse as that budget is allocated to buying the stock. The purse 1 is your usual grocery budget so you would be taking out of that. And you would be taking out of it again when you went to buy it back IYSWIM?

Bulk buys (stock) are purchased from your 2nd purse, groceries from 1st purse. If you don't have enough money in your 2nd purse to buy the offers then don't worry, there's always next month. This isn't a quick process, our shops will fill slowly. So what should happen is as you fill your shop, then you make purchases from there instead of the SM :) They'll wonder why noones buying beans in London anymore when I'm fully stocked :p

Oooh DFW beat me to it :)

Don't worry that DFW beat you to it Kerri, as believe me I think that I need this explained thousands of times in thousands of different ways for it to sink in :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Beginning to make sense now, but will only really appreciate how it works once I start fresh next month with a full month's budget as have already blown this month's budget and only 9 days in:mad:

Thank you to you and DFW321 for your explanations :T

    I didn't want to confuse everyone :D

If I am buying bulk buy, I buy with my second purse BUT as we all have only little mini marts at the moment there will be occasions when you need something to use that week (therefore from your 1st purse) then when you get to the supers it is on offer BOGOF, now I can't afford to buy it back from myself as well as buy from the supers, so I pay with the 1st purse (because I would have to buy it, if it was on offer or not) and I then put the freebie into stock, cost to 2nd purse £0 but it will get the profit

Hope that makes sense, in the first week of Jan, when I started, I had no money to spare above my grocery budget and my cupboards were bare

By doing this, these last 4 weeks, my shop now has a buy back stock of £133 :j

Hi Sue, this makes sense to me :) and when I think about it I've done the same. Bought loads of bulk pasta supplies in Dec before I knew about this challenge, and now paying the 2nd purse when I need the extras. I think there's definitely flexibility with the 2nd purse :)

:TI've also done this as hubby and I had visited the cash & carry for bulk buying so i already had a cupboard half full of stuff!

This month's budget was spent on toiletries, but I already had stock worth £230+ that i had accumulated. I will just buy it back now as and when i need it to top up the 2nd purse :T

Do the meatballs come up on the order details? I've entered the code and put the fillets in my basket but I can't see the meatballs :( /QUOTE]

The meatballs are free with the winter warmers, the first link on the list , the others have other freebies.
The fillet tails don't have a freebie sorry but it does have free delivery. I buy them regularly, when they are on offer like this.

I've never done a spread sheet for my stock, but just totted up SOME of the things in one of my bathroom cupboards ( I was a good girl and cleaned it out today, and checked it against my lists. All present and correct. It comes to £397.
I've got 191 Toilet rolls LOL I've priced them @ .50p each. £96.50 for all of them.
There's 6 Soap and Glory Hand wash and Hand cream sets @ £10 each + A Massive box of soap and glory stuff (I've not added to the list) + a further 6 Hand wash and Hand cream sets @ £8-10 each total value £112.
It would take me ages to type up everything, so I wont do it unless you want to see it.
I've got stuff all over the house and I must admit I've NEVER added it up to see how much I have in stock.

My husband was in hysterics because I'm down to my last 3 Kitchen Rolls, and I've used the last of my cling film. I usually wait until the next offer comes around, but seeing as I have another £5 of a £30 spend from A!di, I will use it to stock up on these.
    1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB
    2nd Purse ££100
    :rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:
    Fridge Freezer £300 3rd Purse /£290.94

Ooh thanks, I was going to buy for my sister but she said she wouldn't use it. Her loss my pennies gained.
