    hello everyone
OH gets paid on Monday and I want to make a real effort with the SP (third time lucky:rotfl:)

however I am not the most patient of people and I like the way some of you are running your SPs and putting money straight into the TP. I would be grateful if you could explain to me how it works - thank you!

Another day stuck indoors because of the weather, bought DR minced steak £3, a kitchen roll 50p and owed for 3 x ice-creams £1.50 from Sallys Stores so another £5 paid direct to 3rd Purse which now has £102 :T:T:T

Im not patient either (cue DH in the background going 'really!!!' with the most irony possible) :rotfl:

I buy my deals with my 2nd purse, when I buy them back from myself with my GB, I pay the original deal price back to 2nd purse, and any profit to my 3rd purse.

For those struggling with their GB, I dont price my shop at RRP, I price it at what im willing to pay which means some items I buy back at the deal price and no more. I am normally a very savvy shopper anyway so its taken me a while to find a pricing structure that works for me. If I had priced everything at a buy back price of RRP I would have struggled terribly

I wrote this a page or two back, not sure if it helps at all???

    Example:-

    SP has £10 float.

You see your fave cereal for 1/2 price and pay £1.00 out of your SP.

SP now has £9 and you have a packet of cereal in your shop.

When you need to open a new box of cereal, you take it from YOUR shop and not a supermarket and pay yourself the usual supermarket price of £2.00.....

So £1.00 goes to SP to bring you back up to your balance of £10 and the £1 "profit" goes in 3rd Purse.

    That's how I do it.

Some people keep putting profit into SP until it gets to the level they want but I am too impatient! :rotfl:

I also pay back the price I am comfortable with......sometimes it is the full retail price and sometimes its just what I paid for the item.

  • Hi everyone!

The SP has had a big change in fortune this week. Managed to not spend much from the purse this week, just a few mouthwash and toothpaste offers and some tea bags, so the SP has gone from being over 30 in debt to having £36.25 in it! Soon there will be more money going into the third purse I'm sure! :D

I love this system! It's so handy! Off to update my sig now :)
    2nd Purse #036 £46.69/£50.00 :) 3rd Purse £30.02

Hiya, a long time lurker here! I would love to be part of the challenge and join all you friendly people if that's ok.
I have been doing the SP challenge for the last couple of months and it is really starting to work ...thanks to the wonderful Mothership and Kerri for starting this thread. I have managed to build up £223 worth of stock with my SP and am now buying less each week from the supermarket. I thought it would be difficult as I mainly shop at Al*i, but it is definately working. I used the £5.00 off £35.00 shop to buy £5.00 worth of baked beans this week - pure profit for SP and have another voucher for next week which was in yesterdays Daily Mail. 10 packs of diced chicken fromL*dl this morning for £13.40, so a good week for SP.

I don't mind taking the scenic route like Mothership. I cook mainly from scratch, so not expecting huge profits for TP just yet.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, have a good day everyone :)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I used to think that I was frugal with my shopping until I read this thread! It's great having a different budget for bulk buying. I love reading all the hints and bargain alerts and hope to repay the favour soon.

I am really lucky that OH is with me in this new way of shopping. He loves to 'get in and get out' of the SM's and grab the deals. He has made a huge pantry for me in the garage to store my dried foodstuff. I have an outside under the stairs cupboard, which I use for cleaning products and toiletries and a huge chest freezer in the garage. Oh and if I'm good, I can use the beer fridge in the garage to keep butter, cheese etc!!:rotfl:
