Having called the police in the beginning to complain about where it was originally parked, there is sufficient evidence for the owner to instigate a criminal investigation.

:rotfl: errr what crime will that be ?

There are a few people who have posted to point out the law and the fact the police should not remove the vehicle for various reasons, which may or may not be accurate but...

Do you have any sympathy and understanding of the OPs situation ?
Should you also have at least mentioned that the brainless, degenerate, inconsiderate, idiot who has parked this car to block in the OP deserves to have their car towed and hence cause them some inconvienience too.

These laws of obstruction need to be revisited to make things fair and to make sure that there are consequences for being inconsiderate.

OP - I hope the authorities sort this out for you.

I wonder is the OP so boxed in that you cannot inch your way out to the side?

You only need to drag the offending car about 1 meter to be able to inch your way out and get out via the other 2 spaces.

SO WHAT HAPPENED? OP should have called Police by now and Police should be arranging to get car removed (it's nearly 10am). I'm on tenterhooks....

Before the police arrive, trolley jack it so the rear end is blocking the pavement, then the police can do the rest.

    Is it still there op?
Have to say that's would have bumped the car onto the road by now (rightly or wrongly)
  • It'd have been gone on my mates flatbed by now, and dumped on some double yellows. I hope if the OP sees the driver they give them a good ear bashing!
  • :( Car is still there!
Have phoned, police are coming out again.. don't know when though. So I could be in again for the day!

They said what all you's said, that they don't 'have' to do something, but the cheif/ head policeman wants it checked out again anyway (I think they feel sorry for me :o ). Was told if they can't do anything, then to get a trolley jack and move it myself! Then they can deal with it!

    1) It's annoying me that if I move it 2 metres it becomes their problem
    2) I don't want to risk any damage to the car which will come back on me
    3) It's been there at least 27 hours and will be there until I decide to move it myself, or they decide to turn up!!

Tempted to move it, drive my car off, put the blue care back on the drive.. (at the back of course), and park in front of it! I only have to go out today and Tuesday.. should enough them enough :P

And there's nothing they can do!

Going to check it out now, see how much I need to move it ect! Way too fed up now!

If the police have suggested moving it, then I'd be out there moving it right now. It's really not that difficult - get some smooth trays under the back wheels and a trolley jack under the front and you'll have it on the road in 20 mins. Me and a mate have moved a car off my drive using this method with no damage caused (a relative had left their car on my drive blocking my car in and I really needed to get out). Alternatively with a decent sized group of people you could probably bounce it onto the road - again, I've also done this to a Mercedes C180 about 15 years ago with a group of around 10 people and in those days a C180 was a very heavy car.

I really wouldn't bother trying to block it in, you'll probably end up with your own car damaged. Get the car in the middle of the road and call the police, they'll get it shifted.
