  • has anyone tried the aldi amaretto? i love disaronno but is so expensive, we've tried cheaper ones in the past and theyve been no good (chemically tasting) so just wondered if anyone could recommend it?
    Car Boot Queen!!

Clothes Golden Rule: Never pay full price unless it is an utter bargain in the first place!
Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!
  • I continue to be very impressed with the Aldi range. Latest revelation, frozen Beef Wellington ( I was determined to poo poo this, I thought "no way " ) ..really impressed, £6.99 a lovely choice for the weekend, sauce is superb too. Had it with Aldi maris piper chips, yum !
Also worth a mention, their Pastrami, smoked cheese slices and low fat spreadable ( Philly type ) cheese. :T
Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016

The beef wellingtons are excellent, make the most though as they sometimes disappear. I can also recommend the venison steaks.

Interesting article in my paper today entitled 'We're all Lidlclass now'.

Quite a lot of pretentious nonsense about lobster etc but it's no wonder the major SMs are getting desperate for our custom.;)

I have just started using Adli as one has just openned up 5 mins away, I will admit I was a little snob about such places before but after trying it I can't believe the prices of some of their stuff.

I don't have a car, so my choices were M&S food or Sainsburys, so to be fair no wonder Adli seems cheaper than those two but still.

Anyway as said still new to it but my...I was going to say 2 favs but thought of 2 more...

Their hot chicken curry is the best tinned curry I have tried, it beats M&S £2.99 one, think it's 99p or £1.

Their white bread rolls at 55p are as good as M&S at £1.10 and way better than Sainburys very dry white rolls at 75p

Their £1 pizzas are amazing, just tried the pepperoni one for now, I love Donimos and ok they are now where near as good but they are good enough to stop me spending £16 on one.

And lastly for now their £1 straight cut chips are again the best frozen chips I have tried, much better than Mccain's chips and loads better than Sainbuys white label, which are off cut chips, Adlis are full size and taste great.

I could go on, their free range eggs and a lot cheaper too etc etc

Yep it's fine ... although I usually mix it with coke or put it in coffee so it's not worth buying expensive ones ...

Highly recommend the lamb shanks 2 for 4-99, individually packed, I make 2 meals from one, or the lamb shoulder 2-99 two packed together, but only enough for one meal per shoulder,
Do I need it or just want it.

Lidl parma ham - the corner shaped joint for about £12 is horrid - we can't get full size slices despite having a new Lakeland slicer, and the ham is horribly salty - would not buy again and we love parma ham normally
