This the Red Tractor Assurance website which sets out the standards. Certainly it goes into great detail about how animal food must be stored and states that dogs and cats on farms must be wormed regularly and records kept.

Nowhere does it prohibit farmers from feeding GM feed/crops however.
According to DEFRA (called them myself) food labels aren't required to tell you whether the eggs, milk, cheese, steak, meat pie etc comes from animals/poultry fed on GM crops/feed. They only have to be labelled if there's GM directly in the food eg GM corn or tomatoes.
Unless you are buying organic, ASDA and Morrisons allow farmers to feed GM. So does Tesco, so do Sainsbury's and Co-op across some ranges - even premium. They may not proclaim it instore but they certainly admit to it to Trade mags like The Grocer.0 -

I was thinking of giving Aldi a shot, but would love some advice on what was good etc.
Thank You
I've just converted from Tesco - have been really impressed with the prices and food quality.
Picked a few bits up in Tesco the other day and was walking round thinking "That's cheaper in Aldi, that's cheaper in Aldi, so's that..."
We're just doing our weekly shop in Aldi, buying their equivalents, and making a list of those items which don't taste as good as our normal buy. It's a very short list so far :TWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I had the Specially Selected roasted tomato and lentil fresh soup. Yummy, filling and warming as there is a little kick from the spices, but not too overpowering. I think it was £1.29 or £1.39.0 -
I don't get to Aldi much because it's in a different town but I really liked the tinned wild mushroom soup.0
