Anyone tried the Aldi/lidl beef gravy granules? What are they like? Normally buy bisto but might change to the above. Can't see many reviews online.

I buy both the meat (orange tub) and the onion (brown tub). OH thinks the meat one tastes like the local chippy gravy which he loves, and the onion one is suitable for my vegetarian granddaughter.
I think it depends on personal taste. I prefer the onion one myself.

We use Asda's own gravy granules, the chicken and the vegetable varieties.

Been in both today, hardly any reductions in Lidl, lovely ones in Aldi from mince pies to choccies. Birthday coming up so did get a few ;)
Stuffing balls (fresh meat section) included in the half price deals - lovely (stuffed cabbage parcels with them)
    Baclava for 99p, Belgian Seashells 89 p

Did get another roll of the lovely brown X-mas wrapping paper with snow flakes at Lidl for next year (full price!) as didn't want to miss it later on and who knows what they will sell next year....

Has anyone tried either Lidl or Aldi's own brand of Rice Crispies and if so what's the verdict?

Aldi rice crispies are great, LIdl not so (a bit too crumbly).

Just Aldi - and they're indistinguishable from the brand leader. Much like most of their breakfast cereals, except for the Weetabix equivalent, which is better.

Aldi rice krispies (and choc krispies) are just as good as the brand leader. their Weetabix (in the yellow big packet) are AS good if not better than the name one! (don't get the value ones in the white box - they are truly disgusting).

It just shows how subjective taste is. I like the value wheat biscs from Aldi! I always have them with hot milk. Nice and sticky.

I get the feeling that the majority of Aldi plastic containers don't have the recycling triangle on them.

All plastic containers should have a number printed into the plastic on the bottom of the pack. That tells recycling companies where it goes rather than what is printed on the pack. Depends on your Council if they sort it or if it gets bulk-shipped to China (most of it does and comes back as microbeads in cosmetics and toothpaste). I wouldn't worry about the triangle but if you do, check the numbers on the bottom and if it is recyclable.http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/g804/recycling-symbols-plastics-460321/?slide=1
