the fruit and veg is hit and miss, and if they claim its so fresh, put a date on it! rather than putting some weird code on as they currently do!

I'm sure last time I was in Aldi some of their veg / salad had actual sell by dates on them.

  • only pre-sliced cut, are salad and veg, whole fruit and veg does not
  • Happygreen bought the same stuff, great quality. I bought it from Lidl 99p a roll, though probably available in aldi to. I got the blue with snowflakes.

To whomever tried to compare Aldi prices to supermarket value ranges. Puuuurlease!! Don't insult us!!

Aldi products are far superior to any main stream value range. I'm a total food snob, I freely admit it. I used to shop in Waitrose/Ocado and wouldn't be seen dead in Tesco, no matter what! But I'm quite happy to shop in Aldi and get 85% of my groceries from there. The rest I buy in my local Coop and occasionally pop in the local Asda express store.

100% agreed. If you want quality, Aldi (and Lidl) will provide it at far less than Tesco et al. Comparisons with the 'Finest' range are more appropriate than their rather poor quality 'Value' range.

The other way to look at it is to consider products that are stocked in A or L and in a top-end supplier.

    Like...

Torchon Ham - only in Aldi & Waitrose
Crayfish Tails - in Lidl and also in Pret a Manger's classic sandwich

No prizes for guessing the huge price differences.

ALERT: We have been notified that there is a hoax 40% off Aldi voucher being circulated online. Please be aware that this post is fraudulent and cannot be redeemed in our stores. We strongly advise that you do not complete any personal details or enter the competition that is running as part of claiming the voucher. This is currently being fully investigated. Thank you, Aldi UK

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Listen when your internal alarm bell ring, folks.

Popped into Aldi first thing for some bedding. They had precisely one duvet / pillow set in the seize and colour I wanted - not such a special offer, but certainly a very limited one!

Aldi: Saxon luxury toilet rolls - 18 pack - just £3.95. Bargain! :money:

This, I think, is the most frustrating thing about Aldi; they (very) widely advertise their Specials but often only have a very limited stock.

I thnk they did this, in the past, to draw/intruduce customers to their stores. They no longer need to do this and all it does is annoy people.
