But, why are people still frying eggs in oil?? It's totally unnecessary in modern pans. I've dry-fried my eggs for the past two decades now. And if you food from a proper cafe then they are almost dried Freud "a la roadside greasy cafe" :rotfl::rotfl:
An egg fried in olive oil is much tastier than a dry fried one.0 -
Also if dry frying try cooking half way then put a little cold water in pan and cover pan for a minute or so it steams the yolk and seems to make a lovely egg.0

I use a non stick pan for my "fried" eggs, no oil needed. I would never use olive oil to fry anything, only ever for dressings or dipping. I find the taste is too strong for me, i use either sunflower or rapeseed oil if i have to fry anything.
My favourite eggs are poached.0 -
Some excellent buys this morning at Aldi. 600g parsnips 39p,1kg carrots 29p, large bag of Maris Piper spuds 29p. I shopped in Morrisons last week and carrots were £1.20 per kilo.
On the downside, I bought two of Aldi's small Xmas wreaths a couple of weeks ago at £4.99 each. They were half price today and there was still plenty of stock. I bought in advance as I was concerned they would all be sold. C'est la vie!0 -
I'm probably imagining this, but over the last few weeks I've noticed that we're spending very noticeably more each week at Aldi than we used to. No change in spending patterns (not the Christmas stuff) and we've been buying most of our groceries from Aldi for a good few years now, but an increase of around 30% on a consistent basis.
I can't believe Aldi would have been able to slip through increases of that magnitude (though I never check for price increases in Aldi) but there does seem to be a pretty large weekly increase.
Has anyone else noticed them pushing up prices as they get more popular? Probably inevitable, I suppose.0 -
I've not noticed any price rises in Aldee, n I shop there all the time"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Think they're like Tesco and have over ordered the Xmas stuff !! My Tesco were selling off the miniature real (conifers really, sprayed with glitter) Xmas trees in Hessian bags yesterday for 30p each !!!0 -
