I got some of the new fish kievs from Aldi last week. Mr TA tried one of the smoked haddock and cheese filled ones and said they were rather tasty!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

My local branch was selling Moorhouse beers for £1.19.
Home bargains already sells the Goliath beer for £1.19 but Lidl were also selling BlondeWitch at the same price which is a decent mid strength ale 4.5%. It would be worth buying an 8 pack at that price if you see it.0 -
I shop in Aldi all the time milk nice and cheap
The best things I find is
Amaretto (alcohol) - luscious....
All the fruit and veg
best version mince steak is very good
£5 free range chicken is good value
Excellent salami's and hams (especially good for the price, not watery)
bacon
yoghurts
their version of frankfurters
Frozen 4 cheeses pizza
ketchup is great
Coral baked beans - as good as branded versions
17p tins of new potatoes (can't go wrong there)
tinned mackerel
Chicken and mushroom family pie
olive oil
Things I did not like (there's not much)
mozzarella - tasteless
coleslaw - tasteless
the budget version of frozen chicken breasts - very watery and have a strange texture when cooked.
I don't fancy the ready meals really but that's just me and ready meals.
Hope that helps

I saw those and thought about it so thanks for the recommendation.
Today I've done a shop without going to Sainsbury's at all. First time ever! I did go to Farmfoods (Ribena, frozen leeks) but that was it.
Shopping a little more than usual as bought a Connoisseur Christmas pudding as recommended by Good Housekeeping and a tray of bulbs. Bulbs probably not that cheap (£5) but I liked the fact you could buy a whole range of mixed ones ready to put in a trough.0 -
Anyone know much the Amaretto from Aldi was/is ? Was it about £8
As mentioned by Aliboo the salami, pepperoni etc from Aldi is fine.
I love the marshmallow covered in chocolate from Lidl.0 -
I also buy the value mince pack. Brown's up a bit greasy but I de-grease my mince and soon looks and tastes like the dearer one.:beer:0
