  • Goose at Lidl (frozen) :
    4.2kg whole, @ £14-99
    1kg crown @ £7-99

These really are a great buy; I get their goose every year.
Compared to fresh (and yes, I have) these really are very VERY good with little difference in taste or texture compared to fresh, despite not being labelled as "free range" etc. and being produce of Hungary in the case of what is in my freezer. ;).
Okay, so if you need bigger than say a 9-lb-odd goose buy a crown too; it is still under half the price of fresh! :money:

As comparison, Aldi fresh 4.5kg goose is £35-99!

I also got a wind up biscuit tin with a carousel picture on can't comment on taste of bits as it's a gift cost 3.99 hth some of u
It does.....I bought the M&S one for the musical box. At half price it was still £2.01 more expensive :o

The biscuits are neither here nor there, the musical box (Jingle Bells) was something to be brought out year after year.

Has anyone spotted venison haunch in either Aldi or Lidl yet? I know they've sold them in previous years but not spotted any in Aldi yet this year.

They had some venison in my Aldi yesterday but don't know if it was haunch as only glanced at it. It was in the 'Extra Special' freezer on the end of an aisle.

I bought the Eridanous salad-cheese in oil when on 1/2 price offer at Lidl some months ago and only got round to trying it this evening.

It's scrumptious with thinly sliced rye bread :D

I bought a couple of Nordic jumpers:

they're fine but have a rather strong 'musty' smell. So I washed them, but the smell remains. Any ideas?

I think someone here said there was going to be £ 10 off voucher in one of their in-store mags (Lidl)?

  • Had the Lidl 5 bird roast over the weekend (was 9.99 but had the 25% off voucher from their magazine). Really nice, heavy on the stuffing but to be expected. Made some great sandwiches the next day too.

Not too happy at current pricing.
Normal coleslaw is 69p per 500 gm or £1.18 per kg.
Had a fancy to try their premium which is 79p per pack BUT is only 300 gm so £2.63 per kg.
Not sure that the premium should be 100 % plus.
Also low fat yogurts are more expensive at 89 vs 79 and again are 450 gm vs 500 gm a 10% increase anyway.
