For the shoebox, do you have a pound shop, B&M, Poundstretcher? Better off to get things in there as most of the specials in Aldi are Christmas related. As you are not permitted to put things of a religious theme in the boxes.

In pound shops, you can get those 'magic' gloves which fit most hands Loads of basic toys like yo-yos, play jewelry sets pencil crayons with book, depending on what age group you have decided.

There's a Poundshop in a nearby town but I wasn't planning to visit this week and need to fill the shoebox this week. I might have to revise my plans though if I can't get what I need in Aldi.

I'm thinking sweets (not chocolate) and basic toiletries plus hat/gloves/scarf and toys/colouring books etc but this is what I'm not sure about as I've been in Aldi for over a month so no idea what recent specials have been. Hence asking here :)

See Loulou's latest post on the Poundland thread - £2 off a £12 spend when you spend £5.

Why would you make anything with a gin that tastes "truly awful" ?
Sorry, but however much Gin costs it does not taste good to me unless I do something with it - but I don't like any unadulterated (by me) spirits. Shame I can't gift you some to prove it :D

The Lidl version of a twix is nice and a good size.

All the Lidl chocolate bar look-a-likes - Twix , Mars , Snickers etc are great and far cheaper

    Out of curiousity, which app?

    Hi all

Its one that came with my scales (bluetooth ones) called mynetdiary on IOS.

Seems pretty accurate for everything I have used it for so far - as you scan the items.

    Paid off all Catalogues 10.10.2014

I'm popping into Aldi this week in search of items to fill shoe boxes for the Samaritan's Purse appeal, plus I need to select chocolates and wine for a gift, so any specific recommendations?

I'd recommend the Cremant du Jura sparkling chardonnay. It's not cheap (I think £7.49) but it's delicious.

Aldi - We like the Toronto Loco red wine. 3.69 a bottle and just as nice as something twice the price in tesco!
