I've never seen these 31g pouches of fresh herbs before, but was very impressed when I called in earlier. I'm not sure what their full range is, but in my local store they had the corriander with a hint of citrus and also the parsley.

The packet states that they are 100% British, and that they are proud to work in partnership with farmers and growers, and there is also a handy tip on how best to freeze them and a little recipe.

I'm uncertain why Lidl's potato croquettes ever found their way into my basket, but a) they did and b) they are completely tasteless. Just so you know!

When I was youger I used to take great delight slipping extra items into other peoples trollies without them knowing !!!

The 7 yo me liked them when they were served up with spaghetti hoops for my school dinner. Perhaps I was having a retro moment, this stuff really is cr*p :D

I haven't had them since I was a kid, based on them being bland, a bit slimy and having breadcrumbs the colour of Essex fake-tan.

Lots of vegetable seed reduced in ALdi today to 19p. I remember seeing cucumber, courgettes, cabbage and peppers.

I am not usually disappointed with Aldi fruit but the apricots I got the other day went in the bin. I tried one and it was like eating a sponge - completely tasteless and a weird texture. The next was just as bad so the whole lot went in the bin.

Strange, the ones they had here were nice - but before the 49 p offer came along, those are not so nice. The donut peaches at Aldi (7 pack) were very sweet and juicy and did keep for over a week.
Fruit are generally difficult unless they are local (wherever I shop). Most are either picked unripe then transported and will never be tasty or they go off within a day or 2 :(

  • Have not read all the posts so not sure if has already been mentioned but we got Aldo jaffa cakes today, ds 15 said how yummy they were.

You really would not know the difference nice and spongy not dry and a third of the price of branded jaffa cakes.

Husband always requests the gammon steaks too.

  • Agree about the Aldi apricots being tasteless , but they are sliced up and frozen to be used in smoothies.

The peaches where much better full of juice and flavour ans none went to waste.

Alska Swedish Fruit Cider from Aldi (500ml for £1.49).

I had the slightly implausible sounding Pear & Lychee variety of this today, and it was outstanding. It's a light, dry cider and the Lychee comes over more as elderflower, which really adds something remarkable to the flavour.

I had the Peach & Raspberry variety last week, which was nice, but slightly too sweet for my taste.
