    No, quite the opposite.

Ditto! My experience of customer service in Aldi is exemplary and ranks up there alongside Waitrose staff. They are always polite and most helpful. No need to interrupt checkout staff as there are plenty of staff wandering around the shop floor.

The journey's too long to take small stuff back to Aldi, but also, don't you get the impression that they'll either bite your head off or just laugh out loud of you ask for a refund? You have to interrupt the till staff to do it I guess.

As others have said, quite the reverse. The two statements below are very clear - and actually it's a rather better refund policy than M&S provide!

Relax. Everything’s covered by our 60 Day Refund Policy.
Sometimes you can buy something and when you get it home, it’s ‘just not quite right’.
We understand this. So we’re happy to refund or replace any item you buy from us. As long as you return the item within 60 days of purchase – with a receipt, in original and undamaged packaging, complete with any accessories such as headphones or remote controls – the Aldi 60 Day Refund Policy is available to every customer.

    (A) Returning grocery items
If you are not entirely satisfied with an item from our grocery range you can return it for a full refund, simply bring it back with your receipt.

I never had an issue with returning things to either Lidl or Aldi. I must admit though it's never been food items but faulty electricals - tried, tested so not in original packaging but with a receipts of purchase. The latest was a selfie stick...

Would you be able to return produce once you had cut it open? Sometimes you don't realise it is off until you cut into it!

Had bad luck with Aldi butternut squash in a roasting tin. Tasted sour! I worked out that the oil coating must have gone rancid (made it same day as bought). What oil coating ? I've got a butternut squash in my kitchen that i bought months ago, it's fine. Was it pre prepared ?

    Why do you think this?

Of course - and they won't bat an eyelid.

Thank you. The only reason I was asking was due to the fact that I purchased a swede earlier on this week and it has some green bits close to the skin/white tough bits that don't seem normal :\

Sounds normal to me. But then if you're used to shopping in supermarkets which discard most fresh veg just to stock perfect examples then maybe you've not previously discovered that swede also has white and green bits.

I agree. But I'm sure you can also take it in with the receipt once you noticed and exchange it for a better specimen, if it's not unreasonably old ;)
