Its the same with Sainsburys too. I buy Asda's.
You say that, but I popped into Sainsbos for milk this week as I had run out, but didn't want to buy anything else. From my previous experience (4 pints RTC lasting 10 days), I was confident in buying 5 individual pints of RTC milk that they will stay fresh until the end of next week, which is the next time I intend to do a supermarket shop. In Lidl, naturally ;)

In Lidl on Wednesday, there was a freezer half full of Ben & Jerry's Frozen yogurt. There was no ticket price on, and I couldn't find a member of staff to ask.
Has anyone seen these in their local stores, and was there a price on?

Starting to think I have imagined this, but about a month ago, I bought a mountain chocolate bar in ALDI. There were two flavours, white chocolate and mint. Bought two of the mint ones which were delicious. They're a sort of copy of Tobelerone, but not as big.

Been looking for them ever since (in three different stores) and they are nowhere to be found!
Asked a member of staff and he said they were just probabley out of stock.
Has anyone seen these instore.? Mind you, probably a good job if they have have been discontinued for the sake of my waistline, lol:D

In May 2014 post #2325 I listed the price changes of the products I had bought at Aldi for those interested. At that time I had bought about 300 different products, a year or so later that's now over 500 here are the 70 that have changed price, those in red have increased the rest are lower in price. I have also included the various prices that the product has been, the last price is the most recent.

These were in our Aldi months ago, and no, I haven't seen them recently, although I've been trying not to look.

I tried the Apple and Cinnamon granola-type cereal this week, gosh it's nice, visible bits of proper apple. Had it with Aldi's low fat plain yogurt, to counteract the sweetness.

The new Fairtrade Dominican Republic Moser Roth dark chocolate bars are lovely, not tried the Peruvian dark, and I don't eat milk chocolate so the Ghanaian will remain an unknown quantity.
Yet again I saw someone buying catering sized quantities of an item in Aldi, last time it was their heavenly Specially Selected Oven Chips, this time it was Aldi Plain Tortilla Wraps.
When Aldi are cheaper than the wholesalers, you know that you are definitely getting the best bargains around.

  • Mccullough - there are a couple of regulars who shop in our branch who have their trolley piled high with catering quantities too. I overheard someone telling someone else that one of them runs one of those mobile snack vans and another a cafe on a trading estate. Favourite bulk buys with them seem to be loaves, baked beans, oven chips and mushy peas!

holidaysfor me, I saw them the other week, I also am trying to avoid, they were near the boiled sweets, not with the usual choc section, as all stores follow the same plans.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Been buying Aldis filtered semi skim milk, like Cravendale but only £1.05. They don't always have it but buy 2 or 3 when I see it.
Also bought their Aussie style shampoo & conditioner yesterday, not that cheap @ £1.99 for smallish bottle but thought I'd give it a go. Used it today, smells really nice.

I second the filtered milk, lasts forever and it is a case of grab it when you see it.

Regarding shampoo I was tempted by the Aussie looky-likey but my absolute favourite is the Alberto Balsam lookey - likey of Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner, 400ml for 69p.
This is fantastic, and rarely in stock in my store, as soon as it comes in, it goes out.

  • Oh, will give the coconut shampoo a try, thanks. I haven't bought many of their toiletries in the past because I bought a spray deodorant a while back and it broke straight away and it put me off.
