Aldi thin base vegetable pizzas for a bargain price of 85p!
Love the Chinese black bean sauce and the cheap own brand white chocolate bars (oooo plus the buttons!).

I love the amerretto - ok it's no disarrono but for £5/6 whatever the price is I'm not grumbling!

Plus look out for the bargain bins, the Aldi near me were selling off a whole load of socks for a £1. Managed to find a ladies 5 pack of cotton print socks!

Plus heard great things about aldi's prosecco, but have never been able to find it!

    Well done Aldi

Never tried the Prosecco but can certainly recommend the Cremant du Jura sparkling chardonnay. It's dry, not like drinking normal chardonnay.

Strawberry & lychee sparkling water. - not tried
Raspberry & mint sparkling water - yuck. No no no no. Awful stuff which had people politely leaving half a small glass when they tried it in our house last year. Our family hated it too, so we were trying to palm the stuff off onto our guests!

    Mexican Lime however, very nice.

Which one is this? Is it the one with Pralines in? If so they spoilt it sticking those in....should have put fudge in it instead!

No, no praline. Individual ice creams, pack of 3 Specially Selected.

Aldi's Vive Orange Zero tastes like Orangina without the bits

The cheese filled edged pizza is nice & the pack of ham is lovely on a salad (some look like the ends of the ham so look for the more intact packs)

A new Lidl opened yesterday in my town, so we now have a Lidl at one end of the High Street, and an Aldi at the other. (In fact, we have a complete set of supermarkets - except Waitrose).

The new Lidl is a thing of beauty - all shiny and new, with copious supplies of crayfish tails, and surprisingly reasonable smoked salmon. They also have electronic announcements of tills opening, and the new electronic till signage.

It also has a large purpose-built in-store bakery.

I'll trawl back over the thread for Lidl buys, but anything I should particularly look out for? (I know about the weekend half-price offers, and will pop-in early tomorrow to see if I can pick up some steak).

Lidl has good smoked salmon too (slightly more expensive from memory but praised by Rick Stein)
