Aldi are doing Lacura Face treatment Oil on Sunday, last time it was out I was suffering from skin that was dry & had actually split a wee bit at the top of my nose eyebrow bit, I used this for a few day's & it cleared it right up, so worth getting (even if you don't get scabby like me) it's £3.99 https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/sun-19-apr/product-detail/ps/p/lacura-face-treatment-oil-1/

Wooooooo! Found mascapone today in Aldi. Cheaper than Lidl too. I hope they keep it as a line as the things which Aldi don't stock on my regular needs list is growing smaller...

Same here. Purely unscientific but I used to split my shopping between two large recyclable bags to save my back when it would really fit into one. Today realised that both bags are now full and may need a third.

Another indicator was that I went into Sainsbury's for some low fat sausages and bought two bits of YS meat while I was there. They gave me a £3 off £20 voucher which I'll use but on what??? 10 more packs of sausages!:rotfl:

    Other SMs are getting desperate!

I've been having it for years, it seems fine to me!

Same here - Mr TA thinks it's better than Kelloggs.

Pleased to find this morning that the 4 pack of Active Fat-free yogurts in Vanilla are back after being missing for quite some weeks. Thank you Aldi, I have missed them!

The only things i don't buy in Aldi are : Tomato Ketchup, Soap Powder and Yoghurts, i like Muller Yoghurts, i'm addicted to the Muller Skinny Cappucino ones.

I actually prefer Aldi yogurts, especially the Muller corner copycats but also the large 500g tubs of blueberry and mango flavours. I don't buy clothes or dish washing products there anymore as I was disappointed in results so stock up in Asda when they have offers on Ariel, Lenor and Fairy. I rarely use tomato ketchup (only on fish & chips) so will pick up freebie sachets of Heinz from restaurants etc to stash in the kitchen draw :rotfl:

There is a very devious bit of human nature that insists there must be a nasty, hidden reason why Aldi/Lidl are cheaper.

Was the nasty, hidden reason why Aldi/Lidl are cheaper that they were selling there unsuspecting customers.... HORSE MEAT instead of beef?

Unlike, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Co-Op, Budgens etc etc

I also suspect if you compared UK supermarket economy/saver branded products to similar products from the German discounters then on a cost and quality basis they'd very similar yet a shopper in a UK supermarket would benefit from things like store cards, not having to queue for 20 minutes to pay etc etc

ANYWAY, Going forward lots in the papers about the multiples fighting back.... its going to be an interesting few years

Some tiny points of criticism here:

1 Re horsemeat - you really do need to check out the facts!

2 Re economy/saver products - these are grossly inferior to Aldi/Lidl standard products, but sold at much the same price.

3 Re queueing - Aldi queues round here are shorter than the majors, and the checkout speed far quicker. Add to that the fact that you can be in and out of the store in a fraction of the time it takes to plod round Tesco.

    4 Re store cards - 1% discount on stuff costing 30% more? I don't think so. :)

The queues. My Dad walked to the one about 10 mins from both our homes about three weeks ago. Whilst queuing, three customers who are shopping together buying 2-4 items each just pushed in the queue.

One or two customers just tutted. My Dad shouted out 'Queue up like everybody else' My Dad isn't normally vocal like that unless someone angers him.

The checkout operator served them. My Dad rang the customer service number and said this happens quite often. Aldi's staff should not serve these customers. Dad received £5 voucher.

If customers are impatient, go after 7pm.

There's nothing wrong with horse meat. Have you ever actually been in an Aldi store ? The queues in the big supermarkets are far, far longer than the queues in Aldi/Lidl. The benefits from store cards are miniscule compared to the savings to be made by using Aldi/Lidl. I don't really think you know what you're talking about.

If you have a full trolley full of goods and the person behind has a handful of items then it's only courteous to allow them through before you. I ALWAYS do this where necessary regardless of the shop I'm in.
