Meat from aldi is fine apart from the diced lamb, which can be quite fatty :(

I don't buy all my meat from Aldi (mostly YS from other SMs when I'm passing through) but when YS is getting low in the freezer I've tried it and been happy with results.

Can particularly recommend FR chickens and gammon joints but also like rolled breast of lamb. I love it because it's fatty and tasty.;)

If you have a full trolley full of goods and the person behind has a handful of items then it's only courteous to allow them through before you. I ALWAYS do this where necessary regardless of the shop I'm in.

I sometimes do - only if there is no expectation that they have a right to push in front of me. You can tell by the huffing if they expect you to let them in or not.

One day in Aldi I let 3 people in front of me with their 6 or so items. I'd never have got served myself if I'd kept on doing that and as the 4th person huffed, I decided to begin my own shopping.

    Yes, it's rather good. :)

I tried the Cherry one. The yogurt is thick and has a pleasant, luxurious texture that belies its fat free status. The flavour is possibly a little sour and needs the sweetness of the fruit layer to balance it. Overall another excellent Aldi product, which with a posh, branded label on it would probably sell for twice the price.

BTW, the third variety is Peach & Passion-fruit, not Mango - I remembered it wrongly. Apologies to any Mango-lovers.

    Another new product...

Aldi Butternut Squash Risotto (frozen) 500g for £1.49

This is a pan-fry risotto mix, with vegetables and rice in a dry sauce which allegedly contains white wine. In common with many of these mixes, the serving is somewhat small once cooked. The flavours are good, subtle and not at all artificial. A little too salty for my tastes, but otherwise a neat shortcut dish to keep in the freezer.

It's with the vegetables in the freezer section, next to two other rice-based products including Mediterranean Rice, which I can also recommend.
