I was glad to see the rolls of goat cheese are on half price this weekend, one of our favourite cheeses - Lidl.

Just came in here to say that I did quite a big shop (for me) in Lidl today. I expected the bill to be around £55-£60.
I was completely shocked that the bill came to £43.98!

We tried Lidl's deluxe sticky toffee pudding last night (brought when it was half price), and it was great. The sponge was quite light, not cloyingly heavy as some STP can be, and there was a generous covering of rich, gooey toffee sauce.

Agreed, passed the mil test :T

Anyone finding that selection of cookies is a bit depleted in Aldi lately? Last week they were out of cranberry & white chocolate so I bought a couple of other flavours, I think fruit & oat and hazelnut. Today they didn't have these either, shelves almost empty. I don't eat them myself but this week DH has to be satisfied with fig rolls.:(

I managed to spend a whopping £70 in Lidl yesterday!

To be fair, £40 was on plant pots stands which I'm actually using as furniture, £10 on face creams and handwash, plus several impulse purchases including flowers, mothers day stuff, Deluxe mozzarella and 2 packs of sticky toffee pudding, which were still at 1/2 price. Not touched them as yet but I'm glad to see the vote of confidence :)

The Deluxe buffalo mozzarella was creamy rather than solid but a bit cottage-cheesy and slightly bitter. I'll stick to the light standard version, which at 44p is far cheaper and tastier. Oh and for some reason the cucumbers were tiny and knarly-looking yesterday, not the best :o

I bought two of the pork shoulder joints again. @ £2.39 per kilo and the joints weigh a kilo, they are perfect for sunday lunch. although, I may take the crackling off one and use the meat to make pulled pork midweek. We had the other today for lunch and it was delish. my only gripe with them is that the crackling is NOT scored properly and I have to DIY it! but at that price I don't really mind.

Just tried the Lidl Eridanous Greek-style yoghurt: utterly delicious, esp with the addition of flaked almonds :)

The yoghurt at lidl is delicious , the large buckets of Greek yoghurt are great value . My son loves the lidl version of muller light and the small pots of fruit yoghurt are delicious and it all tastes even better knowing I have not paid a fortune for it :j
