Just to get back to the milk issue raised by a few people before - I just finished a bottle from Aldi dated January 27th! No issues.

One of the Aldi;s in my town is constantly filling shelves. Their attitude is when it comes in on the lorry and there is space for it on the shop floor, it goes out.
I have shopped late at this place and the guys and girls are continuously putting out the stock up to the very last minute just before the shop closes.
They even put stock which can't spoil out onto the floor ready for the people who come in the morning to put out.
I can tell you they earn their money there! The more I live, the more I learn.

I'd agree and I find they're very helpful if you ask for something. So if it's something you can't find they'll come and show you where it is. If it's just come in as part of a delivery, they'll go out to warehouse and fetch it. This has often happened with fruit and veg.0 -

Maybe they dont have enough space in the stockroom ? One of the trends in modern store building /running is for smaller stockrooms , and converting what was once stockroom space into sales space. Large stockrooms are spaces that increase costs without generating any money,0 -
Just got back and was looking for poppadoms. £1.05! for pack of 8!!! I'm sure they were 70ish pence when I bought them a couple of months ago. Anyone else find prices have shot up?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

The Aldi I am talking about was the 6th Aldi opened in the country, so you can guess how long it has been opened.
It has always put stock out onto the floor as soon as it comes in if there is space on the shop floor.
I can only think the other shops have just caught up on the idea. The more I live, the more I learn.

As I said they earn their money there, but they are the most happy and helpful staff I have come across.
Unlike their competitors Sainburys and Tesco in my area, who are miserable gits.:DThe more I live, the more I learn.

Yep, nice staff are one of the many good features of L & A.
Back to good buys...
Aldi "Foodie Market" Mini crispbreads (Sour Cream & Chive).
Aldi's just introduced this range of rustic-looking snacks. They seem a bit expensive to me, but they look nice. I tried the Mini Crispbreads because there are lots of them in the bag for £1.29. They are really nice, and work both as a snack biscuit and as a small biscuit for cheese etc. Not too salty, and this variety has a subtle cheesy flavour. Very more-ish.0 -

That's more expensive than Sainsburys if you buy 2 other Indian/Chinese/Thai/Mexican items as they are 3 for £3.
As you prob buy a curry sauce and something for another meal later in the week. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
