Not lazy, as make mash from potatoes when have time, but this makes a nice mash when short on time pour into bowl and zap in microwave 10-15 minutes and a nice mash ready to eat, i sometimes add extra seasoning and dash more butter but it's very nice and not artificial tasting like powdered mash.
Feeds 4 for around 69p so can't complain usually 99p in other supermarkets.

I've gone right off Aldi's mash. Has a very odd taste that I'm getting right fed up with now. Shame. Tesco's Mash is a lot more expensive (naturally) but it is absolutely lovely.

Oh, and "feeds 4"?? Jeez, they must be very, very small portions. I'd say it serves 2 at most.

Aldi Specially Selected Batch Loaf - very nice.

But weirdly mine says Multiseed White loaf, when it's quite clearly brown. (Maybe it has the wrong label?)

Given you've got 10-15 minutes AND a microwave
just put washed whole potatoes in there instead and ZAP THEM !

Yes, that's it ...... JACKET POTATOES

It's dead easy to remove the skin OR cut in half and scoop out the insides .....

... lightly fork with butter, milk and salt to taste.

AND IF perchance you have a POTATO RICER then it's EVEN EASIER

Put the halves in "entire" and just squeeze ...

.. riced (mashed) potato comes out and all the skin get left behind.

    Forgot to include .......

    DON'T discard the skins ......

... especially if you've done the "halve & scoop out" method and you leave behind just a little more potato inside the skin ....

... they make a lovely snack

Season with a bit of salt & black pepper then put in the oven (or under a low grill), fry some small pieces of bacon and add to the skins with some grated cheese - preferably a strong cheddar or stilton but any that might be your favourite will do - and serve when the skins have crisped up a little and the cheese has melted.

I've also added a little finely chopped onion, (I prefer mine cooked - fried with the bacon works well), paprika and chilli flakes for a bit more zing.

Alternatively just deep-fry them and add a topping of your choice.

From my understanding, each shop orders there own stock (unlike Asda who seem to be controlled by head office) so if the manager is getting the amounts wrong, things may end up hanging around for a while. I have a favourite aldi of the four I use and always go there when I need fresh stuff, as their dates are always the best. I know quite a lot of the staff there after 5+ years of shopping and they tell me their manager is fab. .

Yes thats right each manager (or the next in line) for each store does the stock ordering.

Elektra - its quite good paint, covers well and is easy to apply. BUT, I find the smell quite strong. but that could just be me!

try it, if you don't like it take it back for a refund.

On a similar vein, does the store manager/anyone know when and why certain items seem to disappear? There haven't been any Thai style fishcakes since Christmas and porage oats seem to have gone too.

Can recommend the Gorgonzola, the mild one is very similar to dolcelatte. I thought it may have been a Christmas line but still there this week.:)
