Receipts are surely to prove the item has been bought, not stolen though.:cool:Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Took the jar to the nearest store and the staff were not sympathetic either. My mum was not rude. She said the chutney should be chunky and not runny. The store wanted a receipt. Who keeps receipts from food shopping unless bought clothing, electrical products etc?
In the past, both myself and my parents have contacted the big 4 and the branded companies if anything isn't up to standard and either get a gift voucher or loyalty points added to the card.
Aldi need to improve their customer service or they will become a victim of their success.
So did you have to leave with the unsatisfactory jar? I agree that for own brand items a receipt should not be required for a replacement.0 -

I just want to stand up in defense of the Aldi Christmas Chutney! Yes, it is a bit thin and it might have been better to call it a Christmas Relish and Chutney cross, but I think it has a lovely flavour and smeared over the meat in a sandwich makes it really tasty. Nor have I found any stones. I'd certainly buy it again."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Had Aldi's SS salmon with a lemony crust. It was yummy.
Though cook it for the min time as due to the shape of the fish, cooking it for the max time, will burn the thin end. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

However I know from bitter personal experience that this is what can happen. So can we stick to the topic thread?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I bought the Plum chutney and the Tomato and chili one, have not tried the Plum one so can't comment, the Tomato one is a bit runny but still really lovely and I would buy it again0
