Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

My best buys from Aldi this Xmas:
Four bird roast £9.99 - excellent value, extremely tasty!
Dessert wine (can't recall name but possibly only one they stocked) - best I've ever tasted. Hope to go back and stock up.
Port - better tasting than Taylors.
Champagne - the £9.99 bottle went down a storm and was deemed far better than many costing 3-4 times the price!
Lots of other stuff too, we've had an amazingly cheap but extremely tasty and extravagant time this year thanks to Aldi! Oh year, caviar @£10 which was far superior to that I've spent £25 on before now!0 -

Most disappointed.
You obviously haven't sampled many chutneys! We all loved the Aldi SS chutney, the flavour was quite exquisite and texture soft enough to smear over cheese or pate to add that "je ne sais quoi" quality0 -

Aldi's West Country extra thick cream is superb.0

I sometimes buy the missus small boxes of fudge from Tesco. It's usually about £3 a box.
Won't be getting it again. Gave her a box of Aldi's Specially Selected Fudge for a change. It was only £1.30 (granted a slightly smaller portion but for less than half the price of the Tesco one, it's a bargain).
She almost burst into tears when she tasted it! Said it was the best shop-bought fudge she's ever tasted and tasted just like her late mum's fudge from when she was a little girl.
Thanks once again, Aldi!0 -
We loved the Specially Selected Stollen Bites with Jamaican rum. It was just too tempting to pop in one after another."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

When I went into my local Aldi (with my £15 off a £75 shop voucher)on Tuesday, I found their very nice looking £9.99 Specially Selected Christmas Puds had been reduced to £6.99. Unfortunately I only bought one.
Tasted it, and its the best Christmas Pud I've ever had in my life. Whole nuts, whole juicy fruit (including cherries) and well, lets just say you can taste the alcohol lol. Entirely different to any pud I've had before.
So wish I'd bought more lololol.0 -
we had the aldi pud and I have to agree, its lush. My only gripe (not aldi specific) is why o why do all puds have nuts in them - not an allergy, just not keen on them.0
