I'm looking forward to the next £5 off voucher this coming Thursday. Gonna fill my basket with me-too Baileys, Tia Maria and whatever else takes my fancy :D

Are the extra special mince pies available yet? I had trouble tracking them down last year!

I think I saw them - in black boxes along with the SS stollen and stollen bites.

Is this Lidl Ken? I have seen boxes of clementines in Aldi last year, none this year unless I missed them, but it's a bit early for me to buy these.

The Aldi Cookies and Cream Oreo looky likeys are very nice and a great bargain, think they were 59p.
They have some new granola bars too, very firm, two to a wrapper. Can't recall price but they were quite nice though I genuinely worried for my teeth!
I've noticed that Aldi appear to have cut down on the squash they stock at my store. I think Fruit and Barley is a seasonal with them, anyway.
I've finally discovered some decent sized tissues, Kleenex being useless these days, Aldi's 55 tissue box of large man sized tissues tick the boxes. The boxes open underneath, I guess Aldi got fed up of people opening boxes on the shelves to take them out , or it could be that they open up easily anyway.

Yes.Lidl.Mc....some interesting stuff today, though prices seem to be inching up for Christmas. Extra Mature Valley Spire still a good price, and the British Wine 8% £2.59. And McKellen Malt Whisky (which has won awards. £20.
And two baguettes at 19p,together are longer than the 70p baguettes.
Couldn't find red cabbage for pickling. Waiting for mushrooms to drop, cheapest still 89p.
See the frozen mixed veg are now Iceland competitive at 89p 1kg.
Eggs £1.25 for 15. Plain yogurt still 45p.
  • I've gone off a couple of items in aldi recently, still do my main shop there but have to source these elsewhere now

Smoked back bacon (the 'posh' 6 rashers) used to be great but now seems to shrink and makes me and OH feel a bit funny after eating it. Buy it from the farm shop now.

Grapes, both red and white now seem to have a weird powdery film on them which doesn't always shift when rinsing. It gives them an odd texture and taste, and doesn't help with preservation as they go off really quickly eg I bought a pack yesterday and left it out on the counter overnight in the cold kitchen and this morning two grapes had fur on them, yuk!

I think you've just been unlucky. I buy white grapes from Aldi almost every week and always leave them on the side in the kitchen (DH likes them with his breakfast muesli). They last well for almost a week before they're eaten up and we've never had that 'mould' on them.

I'd go back and speak to the store if I were you.

I just used an Aldi butternut squash today that was perfect after two months in a dark, cold storage box, cauliflower lasts for weeks in the fridge. Generally their food does last well and I do like the policy of no use by dates to minimise wastage. Fresh grapes only last for five minutes in our house, not long enough to grow mould.
The persimmons (Sharon fruit) that are on the Aldi Super 6 at the moment are great value, very big and good quality fruit, love them.
