I bought some of Aldi's long life filled pasta. Not impressed. I find their jelly babies a bit hard.

Does Aldi have a list of stores which are in the process of being done up? I know the one 10 mins walk from me is being done up at the mo. I can go to 4 within 5 miles and raher go to one which isn't a mess!

Given the various complaints, I would have thought all of them.

The new Fruit & Veg sections have dark green metal racking, virtually floor to ceiling. So if your stores still have the old waist-height racks, or boxes/crates on the floor, then they have yet to be visited by the Refurb Elves.

Or you could ask the manager.

We love the filled pasta ! Obviously tastes differ.

I bought Aldi's French Fries last night (I usually get Lidl's as closer) and we all thought they were lovely. They do contain a lot more ingredients than Lidl's, like spices, stablisers , etc. I was not so sure about the taste of 500 g battered cod (frozen) but a very good price at £ 1.89.

I like the fresh filled pasta, but there is some for 69p ion the shelf within the dried pasta some filled pasta and it was not on par.

If you are either addicted to, or desperately trying to avoid, heavily salted foods, watch out for Aldis 'Passions' handcooked, seal-salted crisps.

Probably the saltiest crisps I have ever tasted.

Yeah, but it takes ages to rinse and soak the salty taste out of seal blubber so not surprising they cut some corners.

Try the Aldi "Salt-them-yourself" crisps and don't (salt them).

They are the only crisps I have ever seen that have just a "Trace" of salt.

Also Aldi healthier chilled ready meals - the Chicken Tikka variety only has 0.6g of salt, the lowest I have ever seen for a ready meal.
